Very disappointing experience at the Revolving Dining Room at the Skylon Tower We were really looking forward to our dinner at the Revolving Dining Room, especially because it was our last evening of our honeymoon. Unfortunately, the overall experience was very disappointing. We were shown to our table, only to find that it wasn’t ready yet. Unlike the other guests, we were not offered any bread. The classic mojito was also missing some of the key elements brown sugar etc. Our waitress asked whether we had received our appetizer, you should know that. Our appetizer was actually quite good, but shortly after finishing it, only about two minutes after we finished our appetizer, our main courses arrived. The service felt rushed rather than relaxed, which is not what we expected from a special dinner. During our meal, we were enjoying a conversation about all the wonderful things we had experienced on our honeymoon when the photo crew interrupted us to ask if we wanted a picture. They came back later to ask if we wanted to purchase it. We understand that photos are part of the experience, but the timing and repeated interruption took away from the atmosphere. The chicken was dry, and our waitress asked us three times what we had ordered for dessert. The dessert was neither terrible nor good, but the quality of the ingredients felt very low for a restaurant of this type. Even more disappointing, while we were still eating our dessert and had approximately 20 minutes remaining on our reservation, the bill was brought to our table. It made us feel as though we were being encouraged to leave before our allotted time was over. Because of the level of service, we initially decided not to leave a tip. Our waitress appeared irritated and came back to ask about the tip by putting the bill book down in front of us. We ultimately left a very small tip, but after we left, she actually came running after us to return it. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, especially on the last night of our honeymoon. I sincerely hope this was simply a bad or particularly long day for our waitress. The view and the revolving dining room are certainly an experience, but based on our visit, I would not recommend coming here for the food or service. Hopefully others have a much better experience than we did. Jesper Schmidt
