Shemmassian was extremely helpful in my medical school process! I was so grateful to have worked with a physician who was extremely knowledgeable about the medical school admissions process and cared about my success. I came completely worried about the application process. I didn’t know where to start or what to write about in my essays. I struggled to figure out how to stand out where it’s easy to blend in with other applicants for schools with low acceptance rates. I heard too many stories of applicants having to reapply or barely getting accepted into a school they are reluctant to attend. I was surprised at the timeliness of their responses and how they could help put together an effective game plan just based on an initial phone call, consultation session, and Google forms. Their structured plan and deadlines helped me to maintain my organization and helped me tackle the steps from what initially seemed to be a mountain to overcome. Knowing that I would get such great support on writing feedback, I was able to focus more on maximizing my experiences which I feel will be invaluable preparation for medical school. Throughout their help, I better understood the steps I needed to take in my extracurriculars to gather the necessary information to write strong essays. Shemmasian’s support also extended to emotional concerns. I felt I could get my frustrations off my chest and speak/write unfiltered without feeling like I had to walk on eggshells, potentially hurting my career. I really enjoyed my experience working with the fantastic advisors during the application cycle. After two failed application cycles, I felt like I would never get into medical school. In a Hail Mary attempt at one last go, I considered seeking the help of a professional advisor.
