Shemmassian Academic ConsultingReviews of shemmassianconsulting.com

We can not thank you enough for the support we received during this challenging application season! From making the college list to essay and interview tips, the service was invaluable. We have far many reach admits to choose from! Highly recommended!

I can’t believe how awesome these people are. I called their number fully expecting an answering service but instead I was instantly connected to Alexa. She was so helpful and answered any and all questions I had. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to them for help, you will not regret it.

Shemmassian Academic Consulting was great for MCAT prep. My tutor was able to figure out the type of questions I struggled with and teach me a better way of approaching them. I went into the test feeling so much more confident than the first time and saw a 10 point increase. I would definitely recommend!

A friend asked me to mentor his son who was applying to medical school for admission in the fall of 2021. Although the young man had used another MCAT test preparation service, we knew that to be competitive his secondary essays and interviews would be crucial (especially during COVID). We turned to Dr. Shirag Shemmassian and his team. Shirag, Alexa Watkins and their colleagues were extremely helpful and responsive in answering questions even before we signed up for specific services. The free online guides were invaluable in mapping out the process. Once the essay review process was underway, I was particularly impressed by how quickly and with what great detail the consultant Shemmassian assigned to us provided written comments on the draft essays. The consultant also captured the applicant's voice and refined the essays so they were clear and compelling for medical school admissions committees, tailoring them to each of the schools. Shemmassian's calm and sympathetic support continued during the stressful period between submission of the secondaries when the candidate was waiting to receive interview invitations. One of the great assets of Shemmassian Consulting is the experience they have gained working with literally thousands of applicants at virtually every medical school, experience they shared with us. The support continued even as the applicant prepared for interviews. This year was particularly stressful as the COVID-19 public health crisis altered timelines. We were delighted when the young man received offers of admission from multiple medical schools. It is worth every penny to have Shemmassian Consulting on your side as you embark on the medical school application process. I recommend them highly. As others have said, it is worth every penny as an investment in your future.

I was lost when it came to completing my residency applications, As an IMG I knew I needed to have a perfect application. My tutor was simply amazing, and helped me perfect my personal statements (across 3 different specialties), make my ERAS application perfect, and seriously prep me for interviews. It was a wonderful experience and helped me feel extremely confident in my application. I was amazed my how many interviews I got in my top specialty and matched into one of my top choice programs. It was simply wonderful to have someone guide me through the whole process and be my consistent point of reference for all questions.

MD/PhD Mock Interview I reached out to Shemmassian Consulting in order to get some practice before medical school interviews. I was paired with Matt Wickersham, who did an excellent job in preparing me for questions that later came up in my actual interviews! The mock interview was a great way to quell my nerves and polish the story that I wanted to get across to admissions committees. I highly recommend their consulting!

Shemmassian really helped me reach my potential. Before I went to them, my writing was all over the place. I had a lot of good ideas, and I’m not a bad writer to begin with, but it just wasn’t coming together for me. They spent a LOT of time with me, asking me question after to question – really working to help me identify the perfect topic and to help me understand what I was trying to get across in my writing. If they hadn’t taken the time to really get to know me, understand my writing style, and figure out what I was trying to say (even when I couldn’t), I would never have produced the kind of refined work that has helped me achieve such strong success with this process. They have taught me a new way to think about my writing, so now I can do it on my own, even without all the rewrites they did with me while we were working together. They really saved my from myself, and helped me reach my highest potential. And for that I’m truly grateful. Highly, highly recommend for your admissions process!

I HIGHLY recommend going with Shemmassian Consulting if you're looking for help in the medical school admissions process! As a reapplicant, I am so glad I had their expertise and knowledge to help me. I was paired with Andrew Ridker who did an amazing job of helping me craft my personal statement and write never-ending secondary essays while also preparing me for interviews. He always responded to emails very quickly and provided the perfect amount of encouragement that I needed as a reapplicant. I was never afraid to ask him questions or discuss ideas for essays. In addition to Andrew's exceptional editing and advising, I had access to the many articles that Dr. Shemmassian has included on his website which guided me through the process of interviews, letters of interest, CASPer, etc. I went from having no interviews my first application cycle without Shemmassian Consulting to 5 interviews and 4 acceptances halfway through my second application cycle with their help. I will be attending my top choice school next year thanks to Dr. Shemmassian and Andrew!
