I have never had interest in the other DNA based services that only tell you about your ancestors, etc. But, when I saw that Self Decode provided detailed information relative to my specific DNA, I just had to try it. (Both of my parents died in their early 70's, which is where I am now.) The information from the test is broken down into several reports, such as Inflammation, Cognitive Functioning, Cardiovascular, Susceptibility to Covid, etc. There is an overview written in terms a layman can understand. There are also specific references to various genes....and whether my specific genotype would bestow either a benefit or a vulnerability. They also rank the relative risk posed by problematic genes.....as well as solid recommendations on nutrition/lifestyle choices that can help offset them. Lots of rich information here, and you can take as deep a dive as you wish.

Hello everyone, lets talk self decode. The two areas I will be commenting on is self decode's (SD) personnel/team, and the product. I would first like to say that thus far my experience with SD's team, and the product have been unquestionably phenomenal! Lets start with two of the team members I interacted with, one pre purchase team member (Sarah) and the other, post purchase technical question team member (Cassie). I'm a research oriented type of individual. In the past I would often come across SD's links while doing my research and was always impressed by SD's in-depth data. I had came to the conclusion that SD may be a good subscription to have access to. However, before purchasing aSD subscription, I had a series of comprehensive technical questions that I needed answers to. I reached out to SD via email for those answers. I was fortunate enough to interact with Sarah. Sarah is simply amazing! Sarah and I corresponded back and forth via several emails over several days. Every email that Sarah answered, was answered in a prompt, knowledgeable, comprehensive, courteous and professional manner. Additionally, once the questions had been answered, Sarah would always remind me to reach out to her with any additional questions or concerns, Again this is all pre purchase support which again is amazing, thanks Sarah! After interacting with Sarah, I was confident that purchasing a membership would be well worth it, which I did. A week or two after the purchase I had a technical question, and submitted my question while on line via a chat session. I received a response from another self decode support staff, Cassie. Cassie answered my question quickly, and like Sarah she was knowledgeable, comprehensive, courteous and professional as well, thanks Cassie! I thought to myself this support is unquestionably outstanding! Now regarding Self Decode itself. As I have articulated earlier, in my opinion, SD is a truly a phenomenal service. Its been over a month since I've started to delve into the content on a regular basis and I feel like I've really just scratched the surface. The site has an enormous amount of solid, comprehensive data on a multitude of genome health related topics, all which appear to be constructed and reviewed by a team of highly qualified and impressive team members (check out “our team” on the website). And to top it off, SD uses AI technology as well! The data provided often has references from where the data was obtained from the scientific community which then allows the user to study the data's origin further. Even though SD has many many features, I will just touch base on my favorite component which is the “wellness reports”. These reports are comprehensive and include an introduction, summary, risk and recommendations. The wellness reports provides the user insight into how their genome can be affected by everyday wellness choices (diet, behavior, supplement etc) , and again these reports are accompanied by links to scientific data throughout the report that the user can review. And apparently, there are new reports on a regular basics. I've been a member since the end of November, and several new wellness reports have been generated by SD since that time. In conclusion, I am sincerely thrilled with purchasing SD. I feel its one of the best purchases I've ever made, and highly recommend it to anyone looking for this type of insight into their genome. One thing worth mentioning is that even though there is a lot of data, the date is written in a manner that's easy to assimilate by the average person, so its an easy and rewarding read. SD has two different types of memberships; yearly and lifetime with or without DNA testing . If you're on the fence like I was, I suggest signing up for mailing list, that way you can get a “peek” into the service. And If you're like me, the more you peek into the service, the more impressed you will be with the service. It was a birthday gift and I love it!

I had a issue with my DNA sequence from another company not uploading. I had the pleasure of Sarah helping me throughout the process to see what was wrong with my sequence and how it could be fixed. It ended up being an easy fix, where my sequence got sent to their sequence masters who combined my raw data, to create the sequence that would work for their site. The whole process took a few days and Sarah was there every step of the way updating me and answering all questions.
