For a few years, I've had access to SelfDecode. Recently I just upgraded to the lifetime account access. The updated changes they made to their website were initially overwhelming, but Cassie was very helpful and got me on track quite quickly. I use SelfDecode frequently to continually seek solutions and research all that may help with personal health, well-being and lifestyle. As a wellness professional, I often recommend SelfDecode to others and use it for family as well. I'm looking forward to the 'traits" area of the website being accessible again and for new things to come! I leave 4 stars because there's always room for growth, but overall highly recommend SelfDecode.

Haven’t heard back yet about updating my dna profile with a later version and it has been 3 weeks.

Okay, here's my review. I was one of the first to signup because decoding my genetic makeup made sense to me since my father died when I was 1 1/2 yr old and my mother died of diabetes and arterosclerosis when I was 14. Subsequently, I have always had to figure out what to do with medical issues and preventative care. The information I have received has helped me overcome a number of minor issues and a couple of major issues. All communications have been prompt to the extent that they all got back to me when promised. I have no complaints. Now all I have to do is get another DNA Test since the one I got years ago was the first version of Ancestry.com. Most of the answers I got first indicated there was not sufficient gene information to provide a few of answers. I suspect all companies have improved their database - so I need to find out which one has the most current data.

I appreciate SelfDecode making it possible for me to learn about my genetics on my own. Their system is easy to use and apply to daily habits. Overall a great product.

I had a problem uploading my husband's DNA raw data but my helper was able to get me completed with prompt responses to my emails. I'm grateful for her help.

It is very helpful and interesting information, but the organization of the information is a little messy and also there are certain pages I can’t get onto. Overall, it seems pretty great to me.

It's a little difficult to figure out how to use all the information given; but really appreciate what I've been able to decode to this point. So much more information that what 23andme gives you. I love it. I've used the information already when consulting with health professionals...very helpful. Thank you, Ronda

I've been using SelfDecode to examine my and my wife's genes for a couple of years now. Overall, the site has been very illuminating and useful in two ways. First, it has helped me zero in on problems we knew we had and provided suggestions on how to address them. For example, my wife has had a recurring problem with kidney stones. Using SelfDecode has allowed us to greatly reduce the problem. Second, it has revealed problematic areas we did not know we had. An example of this is finding out I had problems with my methylation cycle, specifically, impairments in my MTHFR gene. I tested my homocysteine level. It was high. Using the suggestions for the MTHFR gene, I adjusted my supplements and have brought that level down. This is just a small snapshot of the benefits made available by SelfDecode and its sister site, SelfHacked. I've also used the information available on these sites to help several friends and family members and have strongly suggested that they get their genes decoded and sign up for SelfDecode. The only reason I did not give the site 5 stars is that some features of the site are a no-op. It's really just a minor issue and given that it is still a relatively young site, I expect the issue will be resolved in time.
