Surprisingly accurate and useful info from simple saliva test. I deducted 1 star because I did not know my result report was available to me. I receive 3 marketing emails a month from this company. Yet, they tell me that the email saying my results were ready went to spam. I think they should follow up with a text when the report is in my dashboard.. it is the main deliverable and this company should have a way to ensure it is received.

Hi MaryJo -- thank you for your review of SelfDecode! We're sorry to hear that our email notification went to your Spam folder. I'm sure you were really excited to see your results. We love your idea of incorporating another reminder that your DNA results are ready. Thanks for taking the time to tell us what you're looking for -- most of the improvements we make to SelfDecode come from suggestions like yours! Thank you again for your review.

Makes interpreting labs easy
I have been using SelfDecode for the last 3 years and love having all my bloodwork in the same place. They make reading my labs easy. The only trouble is sometimes they don't have the exact measurements country to country. For example Free T3 can only be input inot pmol/L, pg/mL or pg/dl,, but in Europe we use ng/L.
That being said they can help using their contact support line and hopefully will continue to add new measurements.
So far, so good.

Hey Zora! Thanks so much for your review! :) We definitely understand that it's important to have the lab marker units you need. If you can't find a marker or unit, please reach out to our support team and we'll talk to our science team about getting it added. We can usually have it added within a couple of days. Thanks again for your review, Zora! :)

I purchased the lifetime service..
Updated: after the reply and after the announce of new features (some on the platform already) I changed the score. 5 stars only after the new feature will be introduced and tested. Old post (without the last sentence):
I purchased the lifetime service... The old legacy part of the site had a lot more information and advice. For a while the two parts, 2.0 and legacy, proceeded side by side, then the old and most valuable part was slowly emptied. In part 2.0 there are many reports, but much more superficial than the old reports, the blog with the interaction between users has disappeared, the advice on how to fix some variants and the colors that indicate the genetic variants to keep an eye on have disappeared.

Hi Marco, thank you for being a lifetime SelfDecode customer. I hope this reply finds you well. I want to reach out and personally apologize for any frustration you've experienced during our transition to SelfDecode 2.0. I definitely understand your concern about certain features being retired, and I'm happy to say that we have changes coming out within the next few months to reflect your feedback.
As you've noticed, we've made a lot of changes to the site, and we've been retiring features and reports that are not up to our standard of accuracy anymore due to new research being released. The reason that we transitioned to SelfDecode 2.0 is that we now use advanced, cutting-edge technology called SNP imputation. This allows us to get 10x more data out of your DNA file. You can learn more here: https://selfdecode.helpscoutdocs.com/article/235-what-is-imputation.
We have already started to release new versions of the Legacy features on 2.0. For example, the personalized genetics blog and gene and SNP packs are available on 2.0. We also recently released 83 million gene and SNP pages on 2.0, and we'll be adding more information to these pages soon. As you can probably imagine, updating this many pages with new information is a huge task. That's why we've kept the Legacy pages available for now. You can expect to see improvements to 2.0 within the next few months.
We are sorry to hear that you feel we are transitioning to 2.0 in order to deceive our customers into purchasing supplements from us. We're passionate about providing our customers with the information that they need to take their health into their own hands, so we take your concern about our intentions with the custom supplement tool very seriously.
Our custom supplement feature is a tool that we provide to make ordering and taking supplements easier--it is not in our business model to trick people into buying supplements. Ordering supplements from us is optional, and we only show the custom supplement feature on your dashboard. They're aren't advertized to you in your reports.
Please know that we value your review and opinion. We remain committed to providing our customers with a great experience, including great customer support and the most accurate, actionable DNA reports on the market. We want to help everyone improve their health and live better on their own terms.
If you have any additional concerns about the transition to SelfDecode 2.0, we hope you reach out to our support team. We look forward to chatting soon.

I joined SelfDecode just as they were…
I joined SelfDecode just as they were transitioning to 2.0. I love learning about myself and especially the add labs feature. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is that there is so much information it becomes overwhelming and difficult to navigate.
Response from SelfDecodeJun 22, 2022
Hey Thais! Thanks for your review. There's definitely a lot of information on the site, and it can be overwhelming if you're not sure where to start! That's why our customer support team offered you a call to go over how to use the site; we hope you take advantage of that!
I always suggest reviewing the DNA Reports that pertain to health issues you're currently dealing with, if any. That's often a good starting point. You can see the full list of Wellness Reports by selecting DNA > Health Reports reports from the top of the screen.
Then, move on to any DNA Reports that show a high risk score.
Of course, it's totally up to you, but that's the strategy our support team normally recommends. :)
Thanks again for your review, Thais! We look forward to speaking to you soon!

Great help, slightly frustrating site.
The site is not as useful as I would like in terms of being able to present all the information I need concisely, I feel there is a lot of clicking around to find answers. I also felt it would have been great to see more benchmarking in total, like what the average person has for total at risks, where there are correlations, anomalies, etc.
However, the help desk was fantastic. I spoke to Cassie B who could not have been more helpful in answering my questions and explaining the outcome. So far I am giving the website a 3 (but have only been playing with it for 20 mins) but Cassie a 5... so we average at 4.

Very informative website
Very informative website. Lots of reports. I have been a reader of Joe's articles for years. His articles are one of the first sources I go to when researching.
