Screen RantReviews of screenrant.com

It seems people are ranting about Screenrant now. Used to be good, can’t say that anymore. Screen-rant started blocking their website to viewing with a pop-up asking you to make an account and give them your information or no access to view it! They have to be joking! 🙄 This tactic will lead to demise. Who wants to sign up to view the homepage or link of a website when you can’t even see what you are signing up for? Screenrant really must think they’re invincible and we’re all suckers. I boycott any website scammers trying to collect personal information. I hope others reading this don’t fall this. I won’t. Goodbye Screenrant!

try to read an article am greeted with "please sign up to continue reading" f*#k you

Screen rant writes anything to make a story without any research and also totally ignores how good a movie is because the critics hate it even though the audience loved it.

Used to casually enjoy their articles and podcasts, even though they'd occasionally spoil films with their titles. Since bringing in the account sign in, I'm out.

I have been reading articles on screen rant for years and now when I go to read an article on their site they block the screen and demand that I create an account and sign in with my email in order to continue to read anything else on their site. I'm done to hell with screen rant and their stupid sister site cbr!!

I saw many articles of screenrant, and there's literally just one thing I can do: rant It's one thing to just disagree with someone, but the writers of this site are just writing nonsense. Half the time it feels like they only talk around the subject and even at the end never really having a point. Or they state utterly nonsense as a somewhat fact, while it's clear that it's just their opinion and not only being far from being a fact, but simply being wrong which, other than their opinion, is most of the time a fact. I can't recommend this site, it's just a waste of time and only leads to people being disinformed.

One of the worst writers, not sure why they get paid for making irrelevant movie lists. For example the Gilmore Girls article where Lorelai would’ve been different in today’s society. All their writer, Aya T. had to say was about social media and dating apps 🤦‍♀️. Is this all we do today, post pictures on Instagram, make videos on TikTok and go on dating sites? Was this written by a 14 year old? How pathetic and boring. It took her ten paragraphs to talk about nothing. This page should really have a like and dislike button and comment section.

These writers should be ashamed of themselves. They contribute heavily to the standardization of publishing personal (uninformed) opinion as journalism. That it’s done in the context of entertainment should not mean that they have license to fabricate. And they do it so liberally that the average reader will detect the farse readily, even without being and expert in the area. In the article that I just read, the whole narrative was encased with the plot and scenes of a very successful and entertaining movie, as if it were a documentary, with a few additional facts inserted; such that the very structure of the “article” betrayed the author’s plagiarist intent - her ink, brush and canvas all at once. I had a similar experience some time ago with screenrant, which seem to validate the negative reviews in a very specific way. This is unfortunate enough to compel someone to write a review like this one, never read a screenrant piece again, and warn others not to waste their time doing so (if they have any regard for accuracy at all).
