⚠️ WARNING: DO NOT USE SA SPECIALTIES UNTIL YOU READ THIS! ⚠️
I am extremely disappointed with my overall experience with SA Specialties, particularly the Houston location, and the way my situation was handled. SA Specialties installed a brand new air conditioning and heating system in my home in March 2025. On September 11, 2026 my unit broke and I was later told that a coil burst and the freon leaked out of the unit, leaving my home without working central air conditioning. The manufacturer of the system/part is RUUD. I was told that the replacement coil was ordered on September 12, 2026 and that my A/C would be repaired by the following Thursday. That did not happen. My air conditioning remained out for 20 days until October 1, 2026 when SA Specialties finally sent technicians Jordan and Aiden to complete the repair. What made this situation even more difficult was the weather. During the time my central air conditioning was out, we were experiencing temperatures of over 100 degrees in the Houston area. Being a single mother with 2 kids and going that long without central A/C during extreme heat made an already frustrating situation much more serious. The biggest problem throughout this experience was the lack of communication from the Houston location. I had to call the San Antonio office numerous times, sometimes every day and sometimes every other day, just trying to get an update. The San Antonio office told me that they had contacted Josh, the manager at the Houston location, regarding my situation. Despite all of those attempts, Josh never called me back—not one single time. Even after my A/C was finally repaired today, October 1st, I still have not heard from him. I understand that SA Specialties had to wait on RUUD to provide the replacement part, and I understand that manufacturer delays can happen. However, a delay with a manufacturer does not excuse weeks of poor communication. A customer should not have to repeatedly call another city’s office just to find out what is happening with a repair. After purchasing an entirely new air conditioning and heating system from this company in March 2025, I expected much better customer service and communication. At the very least, I expected regular updates and a return phone call from the Houston manager, especially considering how long I was without central air conditioning during extremely hot weather. SA Specialties needs to improve its communication with customers in situations like this. If a part is delayed, customers should be kept informed instead of having to repeatedly call and chase down answers themselves.
