Not suitable for my racial background. My community never talks about suicide or share in family who have killed themselves. May be ok for others but not for me and made me feel vulnerable

Interesting results when “SafeSide” is the search term. Some internet advisers say it costs us$ 10,000 a month to get the whole first page of search hit returns. Marketing is super slick? Where is the independent credible research that shows this is better than other interventions for example Gatekeeper or LivingWorks start? Both Gatekeeper and LivingWorks have been independently reviewed and those review published. Gatekeeper also involves planning and interventions using a risk assessed approach Is it fair to observe that by throwing in the words “lived experience” - some Australian states bureaucrats are opening their taxpayer wallets for $ millions to Safeside and appear to do so without any credible trials & reviews to support that it is “safe” and “effective”? It will be interesting to see the outcome of the OpenArms clinical trial of SafeSide. It would be interesting to also see if such research includes control group using an alternative program. If this program was truly altruistic……..

I am an Administrative Director for Education and Research at a hospital in Kentucky. I really enjoyed the SafeSide sessions. Of course I’m non-clinical, so a lot of it was new/interesting content for me. The Frontier Behavioral Health staff members I facilitated the sessions for seemed pretty engaged … had good discussion for nearly all of the group meetings. The medical director was tremendously engaged … and the clinic manager told me that the medical director even used the SS framework on a non-suicide matter just because he thought the flow would be useful in that different context. I absolutely loved the opioid-focused module … only the providers were at that session, so it was a smaller group overall and they did one group discussion of 10 folks instead of breaking into smaller groups and I thought that generated the best discussion of the entire series. One suggestion they had was to allow the participants to start accessing the online resources prior to completion of all of the modules … is that something that could be arranged going forward?
