Terrible at sound proofing. Hard to roll up. Crazy expensive for what it is (loose fabric stitched to a piece of vinyl).

My initial experience was positive. When I had questions before I ordered, customer service was helpful in providing answers. The ordering process was also easy, and I liked that I could track the progress of my order. The issue now is that the website says orders normally ship in 5-10 days – this has not been the case. I ordered on Dec 29, and my order has not shipped. As of Jan 11 or 12, tracking said that my curtains were waiting to be packaged. As of Jan 20 they are still waiting to be packaged. Customer service has not responded to my latest inquiries. We need this curtain to contain the noise from our barking rescue dog to ease neighbor irritation, so these unexplained delays are a real problem for us. Very disappointed in the delays and lack of response to my latest inquiries.

Mr. Waterman, We're glad to hear your initial experience with Residential Acoustics was positive. We are a small business, fortunate to be growing at a rapid speed, but this sometimes also bring difficulties and we're working as hard as we can everyday to fix these issues as they come. We had such an overload of interested customers and new orders placed online, our server malfunctioned and we lost a great deal of our order information, which we had to spend a great deal of time recovering. We tried to inform customers who were involved in this unpreventable occurrence to our system and explain what had happened, but couldn't address to all customer individually as promptly as we would've liked to all at once about the temporary issue. We appreciate all of our customers who had patience with us during that time, but I want to assure all potential customers - This problem as been resolved and Residential Acoustics has made improvements to our website and server to make sure this problem as been addressed. We appreciate your feedback, Greg.

Ordered one of the AcoustiCurtains for my sliding glass door to my patio to help block the noise pollution from the busy expressway our apartment is located on. Made sure to measure repeatedly before I ordered so I could be sure the curtain would fit over the entire door frame with extra room on all sides, per instructions on the website. Took 1 month to actually receive my product. When I hung it up, it did absolutely NOTHING to block or even remotely minimize the traffic noise! I could have achieved the same result if I had simply taped paper to the glass. Wasted close to $300 on this crap! Customer service said it was my fault that I didn't order the right size or hang it right. What a joke!

Hi Rachel, We're sorry to hear about your dissatisfaction upon receiving your curtain. We do inform all of our potential customers prior to ordering (2) things: that we cannot assure 100% sound-proofing with our product and of our return policy. Our curtains do block noises of a higher frequency the best. If you're experiencing a lower frequency, such as traffic noise, those will be muffled but not blocked entirely; which is why we do not claim that they will do so. Our curtains have been independently tested in an Acoustical Lab and receive a STC rating of 29 prior to our production team fabricating to create a customer's final product. For your AcoustiCurtain™️️ product, if you make sure the hardware is installed correctly by following the installation guide we provide for every order and also make sure to have the curtain pressed up as close to the wall as possible to avoid sound waves from exiting through the top or sides. If you have an adequate overlap in your curtains and are using the Velcro perimeter seal they should work well for you. Our return policy is clearly stated on our website. We cannot accept returns for custom orders. Once we cut the sound-proofing vinyl material, we cannot reuse and that's why our no return policy is enforced for every customer. I apologize again we could not be more of assistance to you.

For $300 I could have replaced the windows with a better window that would do more to block the sound. Sorry, lame. Furthermore they are not aesthetically pleasing at all.

Hi Jason, Our curtains do block noises of a higher frequency the best. If you're experiencing a lower frequency music/traffic noise those will be muffled but not blocked entirely. When looking at window replacements, the average STC rating for a single pane window 27 and double pane windows range anywhere from 26 - 32 STC. Our curtains have been independently tested and received an STC of 29. For your AcoustiTrac product, make sure the hardware has the curtain pressed up as close to the wall as possible to avoid sound waves from exiting through the top. If you have adequate overlap in your curtains and are using the Velcro perimeter seal they should work well for you. Please reach out to us with any questions on installation, [email protected].

We hung the curtains according to the installation instructions. After installing them, we sat and listened, and there was NO difference between having them open and having them shut. We were very disappointed because we really wanted them to work, especially because they were so expensive and took quite an effort to install. Even if they had worked, the curtains are made of such sturdy material that I could not pull them to one side and fasten them with the strap. They are bulky and heavy to maneuver. Because the curtains are so bulky, the hardware needed to fasten them to the wall leaves huge holes once you have uninstalled it from your wall. We now have a stand alone fan on in our bathroom at night.

Hi McKenzie, Thank you for your feedback. After reviewing your order, I see the curtain sizes you ordered are somewhat uncommon. When measuring, did you add the recommended additional inches in height and width? My suggestion to help, is to make sure that the AcoustiTrac mounting hardware places the curtain as close to the wall as possible. This will allow the full perimeter seal to stop sound transfer from the edges. You may need to loosen the top InOut tab on the brackets and slide hardware closer to the walls surface. Although our curtains are necessarily heavy to block sound, they do break-in over time, allowing for an easier retraction to take place. Hope this helps you. If you have any questions, please let us know. Thank you, RA Team

Nice customer services but the soundproof curtains stops 5 decibels.

Go, What type of noise are you trying to block? Our STC rating of 29 comes from being tested over a wide range of frequencies and it is proven to block more of the low end frequencies such as traffic noise, lawn mowers, sirens etc. If you added the additional inches when ordering the overlap of our curtain to the window frame should deflect the most sound waves possible. Please call or email us with questions on the installation of the product, [email protected].

Hello, My wife and I were excited to purchase these window blinds because we live directly on main street, but at $350.00 for two blinds I could have purchased two actual new 4-pain windows! We followed the directions on the Web site and when the product arrived it is too short and not wide enough. The company has refused to refund our money because it is a special order item. Well, perhaps if the company had taken a little more time to give their clients the information they need to make correct decisions I would not be out $350.00. Do not waste your money, and do not waste your time. Taken advantage of in Wisconsin.
