I inadvertently set up a subscription whilst setting up my new TV from my phone. I scanned a QR code on my TV screen and pressed 'Open' just below the link. Next thing I know I've paid £0.01 via Google Pay to read-verse! I immediately sent an email to their support requesting cancellation of the subscription and hopefully they will act upon it before any payments are made. I can't believe it is so easy to make mistakes like this. Beware people! *** In fairness to the company they responded the following morning, cancelled my subscription, and refunded the £0.01 that I had paid.

SCAM! I saw a Noom advert on Facebook offering 12-month subscription for half price. As I have used Noom successfully before, I decided to sign up again to lose weight. It's quite a long process, while they build your profile and diet plan. Long story short, I got to the end and was offered 2 options to download the app to my phone. A) follow the link on the text sent or B) scan the QR Code. The text appeared but immediately disappeared before I could open it. Confused, I decided to scan the QR Code. Next thing I know I'm subscribed to Readverse! I have cancelled this immediately though I'm not sure if they will refund the penny! If they even only get a penny from each unsuspecting victim they can still make a fortune. This is a very dishonest enterprise!

This company ( who ever they are !) are a complete joke and a SCAM.. avoid if you can but very cunning at stealing money from your account!

Total and utter scam. Was in the process of dropping some stuff off at an inpost locker, scanning the QR code when it told me to download the app. Thought it was to do with InPost and downloaded it and then found it charged me a penny with £29.90 to be charged the following day. Immediately phoned my bank who stopped the payment. How they get away with this is beyond me.

This is a scam somehow they managed to get into my Monzo card which i have not yet used and charged me 29 pounds .I am getting intouch with watchdog to see what I can do .

I WAS TRICKED INTO THIS SCAM WHEN I TRIED TO WATCH A LIVE SOCCER MATCH ON A YOUTUBE CHANNEL, ONLY TO FIND MYSELF HAVING SUBSCRIBED TO READVERSE WITH A MONTHLY INSTALLMENT OF £14.99. I AM TRYING TO GET THAT REVERSED.

SCAM - Same was downloading another app and this popped up and I was in a hurry so next thing I know I am signed up for a subscription.

Scammed me out of £29.90 I didn’t approve to paying taking automatically. Please contact me urgently!! Disgusting company
