I have had an account on Ravelry for many years. I bought a myriad of patterns on that site.
After a sabbatical I went back and logged in with my correct credentials, but the site told me to give a new password. The only option to do that is the email address the account is connected to. To this account I do not longer have access.
Alternatively, you can message a responsible person, which I did. And then nothing. After several tries and two weeks waiting still nothing.
I do not longer have access to the patterns that I legitimately paid for with my hard earned money.
Absolutely terrible service.

I hate it now
I see a lot of conservative people on here complaining about the ban of pro-Trump patterns and yes that censorship is a concern. Since I’m a political moderate, and while I don’t really support the decision to censor, it doesn’t really affect me that much. Rainbow flags on everything is annoying at best to me but easy to ignore (as would an overtly Christian theme, for example). Mostly I don’t care either way. My problem with Ravelry, though, might be tangential to this, since narcissistic leftist-types seem to overvalue themselves and seek to make a lot of money while claiming to be communists.
My actual problem rests with the price of patterns on the site. If you created a beautiful and complex sweater with multiple sizes, or even a simple sweater I will pay 10-12 dollars for it. Maybe more. Many of the patterns I see are literally the same 1x1 rib folded brim beanie 700 times (that has already existed as a free pattern for 10+ years) with a cost of 7-8 dollars a pop. Modeled by boring and smug looking androgynous white women who look very, very proud of themselves. This is a possible result of banning half your user base: everything looks exactly the same now. Hate the Trumpers all you want, but they are definitely a diverse group. It also brings up another question: how much does Rav skim off the top of these users so they have to jack prices up that high?! Unsurprisingly most of them don’t list any “projects” because well, most people can’t afford that.
In addition, the site was coded before widespread mobile phone use and hasn’t really been updated since 2008ish except to make it worse. They don’t have their own app(why? I know way less popular things that have apps now) and the browser mobile view is ugly and hard to use. Worst of ALL, I have heard they have had data leaks in the past which makes me not want to use it to purchase anymore.
Dying website made worse by the oblivious developers.

This site hates its users
This site hates its users. They have a history of bigotry, racism, and now they have a site that is injuring people with medical problems. AVOID!!

Used to be a very good site
Used to be a very good site, no longer, imported all my patterns across to lovecrafts , cannot stand the new ravelry, and there are now some very nasty individuals on there, which is a shame .
When did knitting become political ?
I made an innocent comment on a forum, and had people back me up, message me to say how wrong it all was, apparently I was a white racist, tone policing individual. Not quite sure why they thought I was white, but hey ho !
I also got a headache within minutes of accessing site to remove patterns, like many others I pretty please asked them to not remove the classic rav. They don’t care, they deserve to collapse as a company

Being new to the site I excitedly…
Being new to the site I excitedly asked a member if she would share a pattern I liked.
I then received a scathing reprimand from an Administrator on how selfish I was for trying to steal a pattern which someone wrote and has to be paid for etc. she then blocked me from dec to Jan.
I looked the admin up and she was quite old and her face was as dour as her entry to me
I won’t use Raverly again and will put off anyone that asks me about it!

Customer beware
This once was a fun website for knitters to share patterns, ideas, and etc. Then the owners decided to let their political leanings take over and turned on anyone who disagreed with them. After losing a bunch of users due to that, they then reformatted their site which made it inaccessible to people with vision issues, epilepsy, migraines, etc, and were rude to anyone who complained. It is truly a non-customer friendly site with a toxic undertone.

Website overhaul
Website overhaul, no longer accessible, caused medical harm in the form of eye strain, headaches, nausea, migraines, and seizures to numerous users. Owners ignore their client base, will not fix the issues, instead they are discontinuing use of the original underlying foundation which allowed users to continue using the site, in favor of the updated twee tween confetti rainbow upgrade.
