I had an appointment with the Crescent Street office in Astoria, NY. I wasn’t able to find parking in that area so I was late. I think it was 18 minutes. I couldn’t get the automated check-in system to work at first but there was no one to ask so I kept trying. I got it to work but it stated it couldn’t find my appointment. It wasn’t crowded which was good as I thought I wouldn’t wait that long. I waited for a person to speak with which took some time as no one was sitting at the reception desk. Then after someone was free she looked me up and said I lost my appointment as I was more than 10 minutes late and all other appointments were confirmed. I said I didn’t know about this 10 minute rule and I had fasted - it was 2:50pmish at this point. Also, it is the end of the year so I met my deductible. I said I will wait as no one was in the office. At 2:58pm another person came that I think drew blood and said I missed my appointment and all others were confirmed. I was shocked that they couldn’t just take my blood it doesn’t take long. And this 10 minute rule is not noted. To be honest I expected to wait and that would have been okay. I mean the office was empty no patients were waiting.
