Precision Brass is the best trumpet training program I have found. And that is why I signed up for the program. As the NFL teams start their training camps, they always go back to the basics. You reset those fundamental skills and make sure that they are strong and in place. When I started with the Precision Brass program, that is what we did. We started with the foundational basic skill of trumpet play, namely your embouchure. You cannot build a skyscraper on a weak foundation. Embouchure is the starting point. If you wanted to learn how to fly a hellicopter, your trainer would know that there are 3 fundamental skills that you need to master. And a good trainer takes you up into the air and teaches you the first skill. While you practice and develop your competence to handle that skill, your trainer will cover the other 2 skills for you. He does not give you more than you can handle. He gives you one skill. When you have mastered that skill, then, and only then does he teach you skill #2. As you make progress, you will continue to use the first skill, while developing the second skill and the trainer continues to cover skill number 3. Only when you are proficient with skills 1 and 2, does he teach you the third and final skill. A good trainer does not overwhelm you by giving you too many things that you are not ready to handle. The Precision Brass program is set up the same way. You start with a re-check of the fundamentals. Then, step by step you develop all of those skills along the continuum of stage 3 learning. Then, when the entire foundation is set up and strong, then, and only then, do you start to build the extreme upper register. You would never just start with 2 octave lip slurs and Triple high G. That would be undoable and rediculous. The Precision Brass program is designed to ensure that your basic embouchure skills are fully in place first. Then, other fundamentals are added step by step when you are ready for them. The Precision Brass program is a comprehensive, step by step program that will help you meet your trumpet goals, as you put in the effort. I’ve been so pleasantly surprised by my experience with Precision Brass. I didn’t know what to expect with online learning, and decided to go forward in the program with the mindset that my personal efforts would ultimately determine my success. But I wasn’t ready for the program that awaited me. Precision Brass has created a virtual world that melds the best of computer technology with intensive personal interaction. Dare I say that it’s better than in-person private music lessons? Private lessons are typically a once-per-week affair, but the resources at Precision Brass are available to me 24/7, and personal interaction with the instructors can be done on a timely basis with surprisingly quick turnaround. I can text them questions and schedule one-on-one video time, and I’m always pleased at the enthusiasm of their response. The instructors are top notch professional musicians, but perhaps more importantly they are top-notch teachers. They have distilled a broad world of brass instrument pedagogy into coherent and achievable bite-sized steps which have helped me become a more effective musician. The program is full of what can be arduous exercises that test my limits, but that’s what I need in order to grow as a musician. There is a lot of conflicting theoretical information out there, more than 100 years’ worth of expert advice. Precision Brass has digested that information and presents it in a way that highlights effective techniques without skimping or relying on a narrow, exclusive approach. I am able to tap into the wisdom of the classic instruction techniques of the masters, while relying on practical individual guidance from the instructors. They have gone to great lengths to offer all this in a clear, organized format that helps keep me from feeling overwhelmed by the information. One pleasant surprise with the program is that my fellow students are available to provide aid and encouragement along the way, and I feel I’m part of a very supportive community. Music is partly a mind game, and having fellow students to engage with has helped build my confidence and boost my motivation. The price tag for the yearlong program gave me pause, but I see now that I purchased an experience that fills my available time with actionable information and which will give me valuable resources to work with even after the program ends.

There are many things that make this program really special to me. Harrison is a very down to earth teacher who watches his students play, can identify real problems to address , also will pick up his horn and play along with us privately or with the whole class and I find that a real plus. I have studied with some really great trumpet teachers but none have seen the problems I have faced .Harrison and Ryan watch me play and can see right off the bat what my problems are ,mouthpiece placement, lips, corners of lips, compression, cheeks, throat, so much. Never had a teacher see so much after just one or two lessons. I am basically a jazz player who wants to be comfortable up in the higher registrar and Harrison and Ryan have helped me out gaining a comfortable high G so I can play the lead parts in the big band instead of being the jazz player down on the jazz chair, it’s nice to be able to say , “yes I got that high G up there” Go Precision Brass I highly recommend it, I play in a band called “Along Came Betty” were on Spotify, check out out

I’ve been in Harrisson Ball’s program for over a year now and I can confidently say that it has been one of the best decisions of my life! When I first joined, I came in with a lot of bad habits that I had built in my playing over the years and Harrisson identified all of them immediately and gave me direct, detailed guidance on how to fix a lot of the issues I had been struggling with. I had a lot of goals in mind that I wanted to achieve and not only did I achieve every single one of them, but I surpassed a lot of them and now I am able to do things I never thought I was capable of in the beginning of my playing journey. Every time I’ve had an issue, I’ve always come out better after listening to his feedback. He really cares about the success of all his students! The community he and his team have built is filled with incredible players from all around the world that are all extremely supportive, making the environment very positive and easy to grow in. I’d recommend this program to anyone who is serious about becoming a well-rounded trumpet player!

I recently completed the Precision Brass program and had an amazing experience. Harrisson Ball and the team put genuine effort into supporting participants and sharing practical insights. I appreciated the time and attention given throughout the program, as well as the focus on real-world application rather than just theory. The program offered actionable advice and a strong sense of community, which made a big difference for me. His knowledge is amazing and his humble, helpful demeanor enhances any interaction with him, whether it is in a group collaboration call or in a one-on-one session. The recent addition of Ryan only further allows access to excellent advice throughout the week. Studying with Harrisson is certainly one of the smartest investments I've made after struggling with focal dystonia along with range and endurance challenges.
