We used this to get some Pokemon for my kid who plays Pokeman Violet. Make sure you have Nintendo online. After you make your purchase, you need to ask their support people for a "link code" on their website - you use this link code to get the Pokemon in the game. This was a little confusing at first, but it's not too hard and the support people on the website are great.
