A TV I sold was damaged in transit by the shipper. Since the shippers max claim was $100, Shipcover (PIP) was paid to cover the rest if a claim was made. Claim was made, the shipper paid out what their part was but when it came time for PIP to honor their contract, they refused. eBay did not make me pay for the damage as the buyer of the auction did not return the item. PIP took this as a way out of paying their part of the claim and said I had experienced "no loss". The TV was missing parts, I lost the shipping (which was over what the combined claim with the shipper and PIP COMBINED on its own) and the product was trashed. I received a passive aggressive e-mail and this was after waiting over a month for the buyer to acknowledge the loss (which of course they would not do as they couldn't even be bothered to send my item back to me). Terrible company, terrible experience. Buy the extra coverage from the shipper. They all offer it. This company actively seeks to keep your money. Avoid them. They respond to these reviews which is nice but a sub-3 score is telling. Use all the excuses you want, you're still a sketchy company and it shows.

eBay advertises this insurance as a seamless way to protect the products you sell, but my experience with PIP Insurance has been anything but seamless. My claim has been delayed by repeated verification requests and extended waiting periods, and the process may take two months or longer to resolve. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this coverage. Sellers should understand that filing a claim does not necessarily mean they will receive prompt payment.

Terrible experience with Parcel Insurance Plan! I paid for package insurance only to be met with complete negligence and disregard. At first, the company responded once a week, dragging out the process. After waiting two months, I finally received a ridiculous response claiming that I had personally visited their office and confirmed that I had neither sold nor purchased anything. This is a blatant lie! I have all the necessary documents proving my insurance purchase and the shipment of my item. Parcel Insurance Plan creates the illusion of protection but does not fulfill its obligations. If you expect compensation, forget about it. Their promises are worthless. I plan to escalate my complaint to higher authorities so that companies like this stop misleading people. Do not insure anything with Parcel Insurance Plan—it’s a complete waste of time and money!
