We was with Tesco Pet Insurance for 14 years, the policy was with RSA via Tesco, Tesco in their Wisdom (Questionable) changed to Pinnacle, under RSA the premium rarely changed, the last premium with RSA was £1900, we regerded that as high but due to having Adison disease which required a monthly injection @ £100 per month, when Pinnacle took over they increased the premium overnight by 63% to £3500, went to Ombudsman who judged that Pinnacle were permitted to set their own rates, the problem is as we had a pre existing condition we couldn't go anywhere else, Pinnacle took advantage of this. so would I insure with Tesco in future, possibly, but not while they are using Pinnacle. I am not alone, I am aware of others with pre existing conditions who also had the opinion that Pinnacle were attempting to dicourage Tesco policy holders who had made claims.

My claim took 7 stressful weeks to process. My original claim seem to be lost in the abyss. 80 minutes of phone calls to Everypaw aka Pinnacle to try get this sorted. It was a small claim of £112. My claim dissapeared from the portal after two weeks. I felt fobbed off from the very start, asked to 'call again tomorrow' or a ' file error' something wont open. Half of the staff I spoke to had no clue relaying messages from the claims team to myself to tell me what was needed. Every week I was told you had all the information needed and to wait 5 working days for me to then call and be told you have missing information. This happened over and over like one big loop, I got the information sent over straight away every time but over and over I was asked to wait 5 working days at least 5 times! It became a joke! I was told you had missing information from the vets several times when this was not true, they had been lost at your end. The vets sent all the information needed but yet you kept asking. In the end I had to cut out the middleman and send all the invoices and history directly to you and ask you to acknowledge receipt of them every time. Why did it take 8 weeks and 80 minutes of phone calls! I was on hand to get the information you needed straight away! Your staff were not being clear. How did it go so wrong!? A formal complaint has been put in, I received the payment for the claim in the end but so much of my time and effort was put into doing your job! Pinnacle Insurance you suck.

Maisie helped me set up a new pet insurance plan and renew a current one with ease. Maisie was such a pleasure to speak to and very patient and professional. Maisie is a credit to Pinnacle.

Absolute joke Underwriters for loads of pet insurance providers including Tesco, Sainsburys, Argos and loads more. Double premiums before and after claims, dont pay out genuine claims. Dont go for the name of the pet insurance company check that Pinnacle are not the Underwriters first. If they are avoid at all costs as you may as well burn your money. This is a disgraceful company.

Things to know. If you think you are dealing with Tesco Pet insurance then think again. They are a front for underwriters who totally manage, price, set the policy details and administrate your policy. Up until January 2025 the underwriter was Royal Sun Alliance and they on the whole were good. They no longer offer Pet insurance and have sold your data to, and you will now be dealing with Pinnacle pet insurance even though when you contact them, they answered Tesco Insurance. Who are now not interested in any pet dog over the age of 8, go on the Tesco Pet Insurance website for a new policy they state they will not cover them. If you have had insurance like us for years and your pet is 12 then don't be surprised and expect the new renewal to be astronomical. If you have an existing condition like we do then don't expect them to want to insure your pet at all. We are currently in dispute with Tesco, RSA and Pinnacle as we have received a renewal price of £217.27 a month (last year £90 per month). Works out as a 139% increase in premium. Complaint to Pinnacle and they say take it or leave it, but you will not be covered for the existing condition. They blatantly know no other insurance companies will insure you. When you eventually get to deal with Tesco, they refer you back to Pinnacle. Raise a complaint to RSA and they refer the issue back to Tesco. Do your due diligence on Tesco Pet Insurance and Pinnacle Pet insurance because they do not care about your treasured pet.

We have 3 dogs all insured with Sainsbury’s via Pinnacle Insurance. We have made claims for vet fees for all 3 and have found the service delivery to be excellent promptly replying to initial claim, swift to make enquiries of the vet and to settle claim in an equitable manner. Definitely 5 star service delivery.

We have Sainsburys Pet Insurance through Pinnacle, the service is excellent, claims are settled quickly, the website for Sainsburys pet insurance is easy to use, only one thing I would say, could the website please use your mobile instead of email to get the code for website access
