If you are considering using Penguin publishers I would suggest you keep your money and run! While they are quick at taking your money and even not too bad at responding to emails everything else about this company is a sham. Silly me paid $2799 AU for the ‘All in One’ package. The editing was atrocious and in the end I edited my novel myself and sent it back to them to re-release (this was AFTER my novel had been published and I bought a copy and was horrified to find over 70 pages with mistakes - some were minor but a-lot were major mistakes & embarrassingly some of my readers had already purchased the original copy) The list of 15 things supposedly included in this package is also a joke. 1. Editing - DEFINITELY NOT PROFESSIONAL 2. Editorial report- Nope 3. Line by line edit- Ha NOPE 4. Proofreading- Hahaha NOPE 5. Formatting- Questionable 6. Ebook, paperback, hardcover- ✅ 7. Revisions - ✅ 8. Editorial review- Nope 9. Plagiarism check- Nope 10. Critique- Nope 11. Published on 50+ platforms 🤷‍♀️ 12. Dedicated project manager ✅ 13. Royalties owned by me ✅ 14. Book cover ✅ 15. 100% ownership of material ✅ If you value your own work and want to see it published please do not use this company. They are scammers and certainly not qualified for the job. There is no marketing included in this price and they will try to get more money as the release date approaches to market your novel (at least I did not get sucked into that side of their scam). If I could give 0 stars I would!

SCAM - So many promises and got messed around for 6 months and now they have completely disappeared, email bounces and website no longer exists. If you are doing any business with a publishing company with the word Penguin in it (apart from the original Penguin Books) do your research first as they may be connected and they will take your money. 19/3/2025 In response to your reply - Received no automated message and the WhatsApp number of my Account Manager Lucas Perez has not replied for weeks. If you still exist please provide an email address and I will contact you.

I hired Penguin Publishers on August 15, 2024 for book marketing services. The contract was for six months, and it is now six months later. Our contract lists 21 action items. Of these, only 5 were done--and these included strategy calls and access to their portal. So very very little was done for over $3300.00. They also guaranteed 150% ROI, which would be around $5000.00. I cannot attribute the sale of a single book to their efforts. I believe they are an absolute scam. Now they are saying: "Well, the contract is for six months of marketing, not six months from the date of the contract." That's the talk of con artists if I ever heard it. Stay far away.

I am still waiting to receive my refund! After a wait - my refund came at least!

I was scammed. They gave me a choice of having my book edited by someone with more than 10 years experience or less than 10 years. I was told that someone with more experience would be easier to work with. There is no transparency. They would not reveal who edited the book. I could not talk to anyone other than a project manager who said he would pass the information on. This project manager continually gave me misinformation about when something was going to me done, or that he would call me and never did. I noticed some inconsistencies in the editing as if multiple people were working on it. I am a novice writer and relied on the accuracy of their editing. I sent their publish-ready files to a number of people for review and found out there were an extensive number of errors. I tried to correct as many as I could but then 2 different experienced editors found many more errors. Were talking 15 or more errors in the first chapter alone. I now have to pay someone else to have it done correctly. They sent me a PUB file and when I looked at it, the title of the book was on one page, my name was on the next page. My name was so large that it couldn't fit on one line so they hyphenated it. They couldn't have looked at the product before sending it out as a "final" publish-ready file. They were to include a cover design as part of the contract. Again, I was not allowed to communicate directly with the designer. The designs that were submitted to me were horrible. They ignored the image for the cover I sent them. After 6 weeks of frustration I told them to just forget it. Maybe others have had a more positive experience but I would be very very careful of paying them up front for a service that you may be extremely disappointed in and have to pay someone else to do it right.

This is a scam. This is not Penguin Randhomhouse. These people fluctuate in prices based on how big of a sucker they take you to be. Throughout their process, they will continually push you to "up" your package to further price gouge you. In the meantime, they will produce low-quality work at an extremely slow pace. The service is also terrible and inconsistent. I went through two project managers who were equally bad at their jobs. I was also supposed to speak to a "chief strategist" and put aside an hour of my time, and I did not get a call or email for four meetings in a row. Also, they claim to use legit artists for your cover art and will wholeheartedly deny the use of AI, but they're lying. Every cover was a result of AI. If you're looking to publish your first book, do yourself a favor and do the research yourself. Hire a legit editor and a legit book cover artist that don't use AI off of sites like Fiverr. Don't waste your money. All the articles and research are online and available through YouTube videos. I hope this helped someone.

Since there's no way to respond to the Company's reply to my review, I have to post this one to react to their shameless lie. The brazenness of it is astounding: RE: "Furthermore, the instance regarding the author’s incorrect picture was mere a mistake by the developer which was rectified." No. It wasn't a mistake, it wasn't one instance, and it wasn't rectified. All four of "Their" Authors are misrepresented by random pictures of people, one of them not matching the race/skin color of the actual author, and one not matching the gender. Brian Kilmeade's supposed picture was replaced by another fake photograph, which is not of him, and the original fake image of him is now falsely representing another author and his book gleaned from Amazon.com. I have the screenshots, so stop the bald-faced lies.

Penguin Publishers, while a respected name, has recently exhibited disappointing service. Despite its vast catalog, their customer support has been lackluster. I experienced extended delays in order processing, unresponsive communication, and a general lack of attention to customer inquiries. The once-reliable Penguin has fallen short, leaving me frustrated and reconsidering my support for this publisher.
