They really helped me prepare for behavioral interviews which was super helpful and also helped with job hunting process. The downside is, it is very expensive and from my opinion suitable for people who are completely novice and first time job hunters.

Great support!
Pathrise really streamlined the job hunting process for me and the constant support through workshops, industry mentors, and the career mentor is very useful in keeping you going through what can be a long stretch of applying and interviewing.

Great program
I was in the program for about 6 months and just landed a great job. Everyone in the program has been super helpful and knowledgeable. I've learned so much about job searching, negotiation, and industry knowledge that will benefit me for a lifetime. Highly recommend it for everyone who just started their career path in tech. The only thing is I wish there were more job referral opportunities from alumni or mentors.

Awesome and resourceful experience
The software engineering program provides a lot of resources helping for dealing with coding interviews including a great guide for all interview templates, mock-up interviews, and pair programming sessions.
They also have awesome mentors

Overall positive; have a personal brand; Pathrise is a guide, not magic
My experience was overall very positive. I had a great career coach (I'm already forgetting the terminology, but basically, the person who meets with you weekly, directs you on what overview goals to achieve and how to achieve them), and a great career mentor, and they both let me know I can continue to reach out to them even though I've gotten my full-time career.
I did the pair programming sessions with other people at first, which was good experience for explaining what you're doing during a coding interview instead of just coding silently without feedback with your interviewer. I was able to use that practice to my advantage during an interview. After a few weeks of doing the pair programming sessions with partners, I did them alone just to get the hang of coding challenges, because I typically don't find random coding challenges to be very beneficial to me as an actual software engineer who wants to solve problems and get real work done. I think they had 3 different pair programming sessions throughout the week, each with different difficulty levels.
The engineering / software portion of this program is heavily geared towards large companies that have the well known "coding interview". Some of their advice didn't apply to me well or at all, because the type of job I was looking for was more security-focused and less "I'm going to be the best algorithm developer ever." I especially was irked by advice that suggested using "conventional coding interview variable names" instead of descriptive variable names just because it's an interview. At the job I got, which is wonderful, during my coding interview, I ignored the advice from Pathrise and instead used descriptive variable names, and that along with all my other coding behaviors/practices/habits, my interviewers actually chuckled, I asked what was so funny, and they said "Wow, it's just that that's production-quality code." So, the going against the Pathrise advice was beneficial to me in that case.
It seems like they do just about as well as can be done with an online system.
You have to put your work into the program to get benefits out of it. You get out what you put in. It's not a magical program that just gives you a job. And if you're already a pro at getting a job, then Pathrise isn't for you. Pathrise can help you with the steps in getting a job, doing each step well, and getting advice when you're confused or stuck on certain things. They help really well with certain aspects, like how to cold email and explaining how doing that in *addition* to submitting your resume to the giant ATS systems and *how* to coordinate your cold email to synergize with your needle in their haystack to give yourself a boost to rise up to the top. I was quite impressed with the advice.
In addition to that, they give you access to some tools that make the job search process easier, like some database that helps you search for people at companies, if I remember correctly, and also to something that makes it easier to send out cold emails. They explain how to write lots of cold emails in a way that is simultaneously impactful and time-saving. (hint: don't spend 10-30 minutes on each individual cold email.)
Some of the sessions everyone always only goes through once, like the main workshop series. I think there are new groups of fellows every 1-2 weeks, so even if you attend the pair programming sessions every week, there will always be new people who've never been there before, so whoever is running the session often has to explain the ideas behind the pair programming sessions each time.
I could tell that a lot of the people who were in the program really needed it. There's a mental shift that has to happen to become really successful from getting a job, and it's not just blindly following Pathrise's advice. Be an individual, have a brand, show it in everything you do - that's what will make you stand out, and what will get you into a position that actually fits you, instead of some generic "coding" job where no one actually cares. I extremely strongly positioned myself as passionate about cybersecurity, and it shined through in everything I did, and eventually led to me getting this wonderful job at a cybersecurity start-up company. That wasn't Pathrise; that was me. Pathrise was excellent at listening to me and my interests/passions, and because of that, they paired me up with the career mentor who had the most interest/experience in cybersecurity-related work. In turn, my career mentor was able to ask some of their connections about which cybersecurity certificate I was able to pursue, so I got some extra benefits because of them matching me up with a career mentor with similar interests.
I'm reaching my review character limit, so I'll cut it off here.

I was in Pathrise for 10 months…
I was in Pathrise for 10 months starting last Thanksgiving (first 2 months preparing portfolio and resume, next 8 months applying for jobs) before I got my job offer. I think I was one of the more difficult cases--an applicant who had the technical knowledge and transferable skills from her time at PhD but no industry work experience (including internship) and no notable academic accomplishments (left a non-STEM field PhD program ABD). In short, my resume was sh**. I was applying for jobs during the pandemic too, so things were really stagnant around May and June. Where Pathrise really helped me throughout these 10 months is the weekly check-ins where I have somebody monitoring my job search pace, giving me a perspective on the state of the job market, and suggesting new ideas to try to get out of a slump (outreach networking, cold emailing, resume reformatting, etc.). What I really needed, and what I got from Pathrise, was a presence and psychological support of a third person who isn't my family or friend. If this is the sort of help you need, then I think you would benefit from joining Pathrise.

Check-ins and free mock interviews
I had a great time at Pathrise. The program starts with lectures on data structures and algorithms, refreshing your preparation for the interviews. Then, weekly check-ins with mentors keep you on accountable.
I loved the ability to do multiple mock-interviews with industry professionals before my interviews and prepare well.
