Personal experience
I’d copy and paste chunks of the job description into my resume, thinking that was how you beat the ATS, with no response. Then I started working with my coach, and it changed how I saw the whole thing. They explained why resumes and cover letters matter and what recruiters actually look for. They didn’t just hand me a template. I would write the cover letter, and they would give corrections to it, and they were also honest about my weak spots. They gave me practical advice on networking and applying that I could start using right away. The most valuable part was sitting in on a session with other job seekers who were doing mock interviews. I watched as an observer and pointed out what each person did well and where they could improve. Seeing interviews from the other side of the table made me understand how it feels to the person listening, and that completely changed how I prepared for my own.
