Promising Start, Disappointing Outcome: A Cautionary Tale with One Vision Optometry
I was excited about trying One Vision Optometry, a new business in Eastvale. I had heard good things, and they seemed nice when I booked my appointment. The doctor, Dr. Alazigha Owei, was friendly and we had a great chat about our mutual interest in tech and our shared concerns about the decline in customer service nowadays. Bernadette, who worked there, helped me try to find new glasses frames to go with my new prescription lenses. Unfortunately, I didn’t like any of the frames they had. I asked if they could put the new lenses into my almost brand new Oakley frames. Bernadette said it was possible, but I had to sign a paper saying they wouldn’t be responsible if my frames got damaged. Thinking my frames were almost new and should hold up, I signed. A week later, Bernadette called to tell me my frames had been broken at the lab. I was shocked. She said she’d talk to her manager about what they could do and would call me back with some options within 24 hours. But the next day, instead of discussing options, she told me she had cancelled everything and refunded my insurance company. I was confused and frustrated. I thought I’d be part of the decision-making process, but instead I was left with broken glasses and back at square one. When I asked to talk to the owner, Dr. Alazigha Owei, Bernadette said Dr. Owei didn’t want to talk to me. Despite the waiver I had signed, I was surprised they didn’t try to help more. I asked Bernadette to have Dr. Owei call me back, hoping we could sort this out. But she told me they weren’t going to do anything else to help me. I had hoped not to leave a bad review, but their handling of this situation really disappointed me. Dr. Owei had seemed so against poor customer service, but then they treated me poorly. It’s a shame, but I have to say I don’t recommend this place. They don’t seem to be playing fair. Despite their good reviews, my experience makes me think others might run into the same problems. Be careful with One Vision Optometry.
