“If it walks like a duck and if it quacks like a duck and looks like a duck….”….then most likely it is a duck! Let me preface my OrchidRomance (OR) review that I would like to give it a “1 1/2 stars” rating…but as this site does not allow for fractions, and I am a little bit charitable in the post holidays spirit, I am allowing myself a 2 star instead of a 1 star rating. First the “brighter side”…the OR is not a “blatant” romance dating scam site say, like Badoo. It has world wide access to locations not often featured in other dating romance sites. And on first impressions it appears that they may actually do screening of the ladies who join on line…though first impressions in life can often prove to be not so reliable after due consideration. And OR certainly falls in the category of “misguided first impressions”. OR is expensive…actually very expensive. Initially I found a certain level(s) of “better dating pool”, certainly better than free/low cost dating online sites. Initially I did not begrudge the costs necessarily, and I accepted the issue as being a better investment. But after over six months online with OR, I regret to inform you all…”Buyer Beware”. I did find someone special online…and then “subtle happenings” started to ….happen. I realized the blocking of outside contact was a marketing business strategy. What I did not expect after spending over (the first!) 3000 credits was the “misdirection” ploys by OR attempting to extract more money. I attempted two, no, three times to get the “clearance” to directly contact my romantic interest. I strongly suspected that the first request was to a “bot”…the second request got some attention, as I cursed into the chat box. Still, no actual movement toward clearance to allow for external exchanging of e-mails, telephone numbers, Skype, etc. Before the 3rd attempt, my “significant other”…claimed that her son had a trauma accident and needed medical attention. Then a month or so later she needed a new telephone. Before these two “happenings” I did , in happiness and gratitude used the OR (outrageously) expensive gift shop to send roses to her and toys for her children. But after the “accident “ and the “new cell phone”…I expressed some …”uncertainty “ to my “significant other”. Soon after this I became nearly besieged with messages from many Asian would be fiancé’s. Just to to “equitable” in replying back soon to all the (sudden) OR ladies that I could not attend to their hopes, my costs of credits skyrocketed. On the third attempt to force the issue to both my “significant other”, and to OR “customer service”, hat from my “SO” we needed to do an expensive OR video chat ..pronto, At that point she, seemingly out of no where, found reasons to pick arguments, refuse to be on video, and otherwise blamed me for not trusting. I went to the FAQ hypertext to once—lastly—attempt to restart the external private points of contacts criteria. I found that I had no access to that hyperlink…while all the other hyperlinks were yet accessible. I made a loud complaint to “customer service “..and ‘crickets’….only upon threatening to quit OR if they did not fix the hyperlink/e-mail me the demanded criteria did I get a response. Lastly, I do believe that it appears that privacy is NOT to be safely assumed on OR. I do get the not so subtle impression that OR is not….a safe actor …I accuse OR of eavesdropping, surveillance..call it what you will… The last straw that drove me to this review is when I found, yet again, my debit card use to buy yet more OR credits was rejected. This time I called my bank..long story made shorter…my bank called VISA international, who informed my bank who then informed me, that ORCHIDROMANCE is categorized by VISA international within the same category status as “Escort Services”..!! I did not find any such declaration information within OR fine print contract about that category of business…. “QUACK QUACK” All in all, stay away from OR…Match.com or other expensive dating websites in the long run will be bettee for your emotional, mental and financial well being. I have spent time and money on this site for a long time. Everyday many ladies sent encouraging text to chat with me and most seems so serious to find their soulmate. So to be able to find the lady of your choice one has to purchase credits to be able to chose which one is the best. But those credits you accumulated are not recorded to accumulate 3,000 credits required to have final private contact. So you spend for nothing. If you had spent $350 or 1500 credits and for no reason the lady of your final choice stopped. Then you need to pay again $700 or 3000 credits for another lady private contact. This is a lot waste of money. A long time customers here are nothing. A good business are polite, give more favors to those who patronized their service. Another thing is one has to submit for personal verification, which is very unfair. I submitted a clear photo with my passport which is clearly readable ( selfie) but unfairly charged me of photoshopped. Though I explain to them its real me, and photoshopped is a serious crime to use other person ID, they don't believe it. If they are really strict and serious with verification it should be submitted to proper government authority, like FBI. This are discouraging ways to stay on this site.

I think some of the profiles on the site are legit. I was communicating with someone who seemed to be interested. I tried to send her my email but they block that information. Cant even send a pic of your written out email. they black it out. She tried to send to me but no luck. I checked out the process of actually getting in touch with someone and it was a joke, application costing probably hundred bucks. Better options out there

As with any online dating service it's important to be skeptical. A person may be "validated", but are they actually single, are you actually messaging her and not someone else, are the pictures really of her. Chancing on OrchidRomance.com, the response of the first gal "online" that I reached out to was quick. My oh my, she must be at this a lot, must have dozens of guys on her line, writing her, spending money to send pictures. So I'm curious, how do i personally authenticate her. How does anyone verify someone's authenticity online? 1) I found the "live video" feature to be intriguing, and there she was. Or was it a gif, a repeating video? I asked her to wave at me, and her reply was a curt, 'If you're suspicious of me, that would be a bad way to start dating. Should we end the dialogue?' So I suspect the video was recorded previously, and whoever I'm typing with probably isn't the person in the pictures. She/He/It just wanted me to continue chatting - and spending to buy credits that allowed me to send pictures, watch more video, message her etc. So I suspected that she herself worked for the site, or gets a kickback. Her reaction to my request was revealing...as if she herself didn't realize that i myself might be fake; certainly not empathetic to the reality that guys get taken for fools so frequently by beautiful women. I would think she would ask me to turn on MY camera! That brings me to my 2nd basis for skepticism. 2) Almost all the women on the site are gorgeous. Ok, it's possible the company screens and recruits very effectively. But are that many gorgeous women ever single and looking abroad and apparently that easy to please? I'm not sure, but based on other dating sites, wow, this is a very different group and reaction. 3) The content of letters and messages. A couple were reasonable. But wow, most were over the top romantic gushers out of the gate. Do they know I'm real? Why are they throwing themselves at me? Are they assuming I'm a ravenous or starving dog? Kind of nuts really. I hardly put anything in my profile, and my picture isn't bad, but sheesh...it's not appealing or realistic to be given the impression I'm worthy of her moving to live with me after one glance. 4) Then there's the gift giving and wow, what an avenue for suckers to get played. You could spend 1000's. I guess some people do that. I wouldn't, not until after I know she is real and thinks I'm something other than a moneybag. Overall something may become of writing these gals. As with any endeavor there's months of sorting wheat from chafe. But if someone can't take the slightest instruction to be authenticated, for example to wave in the camera on "live TV", we're getting nowhere, and the entire enterprise is cast in doubt. It's a long road to impress me, but let's start by you proving who you say you are, rather than gushing all over me as if you'd be happy to bear me children tomorrow. . I'm left with one major thought, one principal impression, and it is this: This dating site employs women to chat with men, be nice, be sweet, be seductive, but really only to make money from the credits men purchase. And I suspect many of the "gals" are married or with partners...my gut tells me there's just no way the local choices of men are so abusive, lazy, or ugly that these gals are actually single or so interested in foreigners. I also tried John Gary's suggestion to 'write my name on a piece of paper and send a picture in the chat', and yep, weird replies all excuses. And as someone else suggested, it's mighty odd that many "gals" (gal-bots?) are up all night their time, every night. Would be happy to learn more about how they share 'the same salon', 'move from house to house between cities', why j4l.com is actually different (before I pay to find out), and a 'call center'. I've become intrigued at how this all might actually operate. Seems very sophisticated...and just plain wrong. BTW, another site i was at today, Violetdates, had "live video" as well, and "the gal" made up some similarly weird excuse not to wave in the camera.
