I like to review things period. Restaurants, Hotels, Shopping items, books... I will give and great mediocre or bad review for anything I am asked to review. Even hospitals and dealerships. Online book club was a place I happened onto, and it sound like a great way for me to make a little extra money. If it worked out my sister was going to join because she really loves books. However, whenever I try to navigate through the website it is a nightmare. I have a very difficult time navigating the website to find the thing I am looking for i.e., books to read for review, books to place on my bookshelf (that I found by mistake) how to find the link page for PayPal, Facebook, LinkedIn etc., I was in my PayPal, and I know I can receive money because a friend sent me five dollars once, but I could not figure out how to get it into my bank. Then I see this setup your PayPal me account. So, now I am thinking that I need to do more to make sure I get paid, so I set the account up in PayPal and I am positive about my PayPal name. Online Book club said they only needed my email. Now I get into the book club website and spend the next hour going back and forth to find the place where my account is to setup my link to PayPal. I have no problem finding my account information the problem is at that point on the website the PayPal link does not exist. I finally find the page and I click on the PayPal button. It sends me to a PayPal page. I put in my email and then it wants my phone number, so I put in my phone number. I am thinking this is going to connect the book club to my PayPal... nope!! I get a message that say I am being charge $499 for professional PayPal. press 1 if you need to speak to someone. Naturally I am thinking crap. The person on the phone asks me when I used my account last and not to open it but to get out of everything. Then he asks me to open a browser and to type in comp247.org... This sends up red flags for me because that website is neither PayPal nor Books Online Club. I was sent (somehow) to a scammer site. People beware. Be diligent. Be alert. A lot transpired before I simply hung up and checked out my PayPal account. Never trust someone who gives you an untrusted website. I gave Online Book Club 1 Star, and they came back to me with an explanation. I have raised the Star from 1 to 4. I may raise that 4 to a 5 on some future date but for now it is a 4 because of the difficult website navigation issues. Thank you, Scott, for answering my review. I have tried to contact someone through the book club, and I get routed to ask who wants money to give me an answer. Or I do not get any page at all. A support email would go a long way.

Too early to comment.

What works in a college course as proper english does not work here. Even if you write a review, then run it through two programs to check on words, sentences , etc. they still send them back to be redone. So be prepared to rewrite a few times.

I was skeptical of this site being legitimate, paying people to review books. And it did take more than a month to get paid, when they estimated it would only take three weeks or less. There was a lot of red tape and confusion. I had to be very persistent to communicate and clear things up. They said they have to screen out a lot of scammers. But we talked everything out eventually. And they paid exactly what was agreed upon for the first paid job. My review was of a book by the site's founder, and I was not kissing up. I gave a review that included a lot of honest criticism. And that's how I found out they were an honest company. It was worth the work, including working through the communication difficulties early on. I hope to keep working for them in the long-term.
