Timely review and support.

I was solicited by email to write a review in exchange for payment. I purchased the book and submitted proof of purchase and all of my identifying information, including my photo ID. I read the Kindle book and listened to the audiobook on Audible. The initial solicitation said I could purchase any version and bought two. I read it quickly. It was a straightforward novel, and I am an avid reader. I read through the terms and guidelines, making sure to write a thoughtful and honest review. I did call a secondary character Patricia instead of Trisha. My review was rejected, and I was banned from the review team for plagiarism. I was accused of not reading the book in the feedback. I submitted an appeal and was not reinstated. I submitted a secondary appeal, which I couldn't modify, nor could I provide any additional information. After two weeks, I received the following anonymous response... I can see in the sample on Amazon that the character is called "Trisha" in the book. However, several AI detectors have flagged this review as having significant AI content. The results we received are 100% AI, 69% AI, and 75% AI. These programs are determined to be reliable because I have run my own reviews through them to ensure there are no false positives, and the results are close to 0% for all three programs. If you used certain online programs to help write or edit the review, they could have changed the review enough to be picked up by AI detectors. Therefore, the review is considered plagiarized. I have no recourse here. Per their email, the matter is closed. They didn't ask for my notes, I wasn't allowed to rewrite the review, and I wasn't offered a refund of my purchase. I wasn't able to try again; I was simply banned (forfeiting any payment). I read some spotlight reviews, which seemed glowingly positive and excessively long. So, I probably am not a good fit anyway. I just feel ripped off of my money and time. It seems like a marketing scheme at the expense of honest reviewers. They just want you to download the book. I wasn't going to write a review, but if you are considering reviewing for this company, be prepared. -- I am amending this review for star count. After I left this review, the owner reached out, and after some back-and-forth, it did seem that he cared about my experience and was conciliatory. He invited me to work with customer service to clear any misunderstandings. I was encouraged that he wanted to rectify my experience. I'm not sure if I will do that, but I felt like I had to amend this to let reviewers know they have the option.

I just joined this book review club and look forward to having my book reviewed. I hope I get enough advance notice of the group review to be able to run a special price on my e-book.

Hi, Sarah, This is Scott. I hope all is well with you. I believe we are already in contact about this and that you left this review on TrustPilot by accident (thinking it was a way to contact us directly). If you can either remove this review or upgrade our rating to 5/5 that would be wonderful. However, if there is anything with which I can help at any time, please do let me know. You can reply to me here or email me anytime about anything. Thank you, Scott [email protected]

The review that OnlineBookClub provided for my book was very thorough and it is clear that the reviewer read the whole book. After seemingly praising the book for its readability and thought-provoking content, I was disappointed by the reasons the reviewer gave for not rating my book 5-star. The reviewer said the book tries to cover too much ground and that it might be uncomfortable for some readers who hold traditional views. The whole point of the book is that it is comprehensive in its coverage of the subject matter and provides a controversial counterpoint to traditional interpretations. It should not be penalized for achieving those objectives.

My only complaint is that when a reviewer is no longer a reviewer, the review is taken down. And if paid for 50 reviews sometimes last year and still have not received all 50 reviews.

I really like and appreciate your services for indie writers! However, navigating the website can sometimes be confusing. After reading a promotional email, I paid for a review, plus a set of reviews, and I'm not sure both orders went through. I clicked around on the site, and eventually found out how to flesh out the information for my book, but again am unclear is the reviewers will see what I wrote, or if I put everything in the right place.

I am in progress trying to catch up. At first I had felt as if there were so many directions but without them one cannot be on the write track. I feel I am doing great so far. In spite of I getting off the track sometimes, you are doing great getting the mentees on track. The mentee may take time to get there. I suggest that the chat guides read and understand their requests before answering. All in all, you are doing an excellent work guiding us. We are greatful. Keep up.
