My book was liked by the reviewer but the review was poorly written. Site guarantees 200 book sales but dig deeper; one must take a laundry list of actions before the guarantee is in force. My review and purchase of the service did not lead to 200 sales. Deceptive. Disappointing.

Disturbing Concerns Raises Alarms
As an aspiring reviewer, I entered Onlinebookclub.org with optimism, eager to contribute thoughtful reviews and engage with fellow readers. However, my experience quickly turned sour as I discovered that the platform's owner, Scott Hughes, not only exhibited a subpar writing style but also failed to fulfill his financial obligations to reviewers. Despite submitting high-quality reviews, I found myself entangled in a situation where I was owed money for my contributions.
Rather than addressing the issue responsibly, Onlinebookclub.org resorted to banning my account, effectively evading their responsibility to compensate me. Such tactics are unacceptable for any reputable platform, let alone one that claims to foster a supportive community for book lovers.
Furthermore, the communication I received from Scott Hughes regarding the ban was unproductive and frustrating. Instead of acknowledging the financial dispute, I found myself engaged in circular conversations that wasted my time and offered no resolution. This lack of accountability and professionalism is deeply troubling.
Given these disconcerting revelations, it is crucial for aspiring reviewers to exercise extreme caution when considering involvement with Onlinebookclub.org, as their failure to meet financial obligations and ineffective communication, undermines their credibility and trustworthiness.
It is imperative that the management of Onlinebookclub.org, particularly Scott Hughes, address these issues promptly and take necessary steps to rectify the situation. Failure to do so not only tarnishes their reputation but also raises concerns about potential fraudulent activities.
I also encourage individuals affected by non-payment or similar issues to report their experiences to the appropriate authorities to ensure proper investigation into any violations.
In conclusion, my personal experience with Onlinebookclub.org has been deeply disheartening. I strongly urge potential reviewers to exercise caution and explore alternative platforms with a proven track record of professionalism, fair compensation, and adherence to legal requirements.
Edit:
First and foremost, I want to emphasize that I have indeed read all the books that I reviewed, and this can be corroborated by the content of the reviews themselves. Secondly, I must strongly disagree with the assertion that I violated any guidelines. I made a conscious decision not to label a certain word in the book as profane, as its context did not warrant such classification. It is important to note that this decision was limited to just two out of the eleven reviews I wrote.
Furthermore, I find it rather disappointing that instead of acknowledging the value of the reviews I wrote and compensate me for them, Mr. Scott Hughes chose to harass me via email, because I wrote a review about his manners here on Trustpilot. Such behavior is unprofessional and undermines the integrity of our interaction. I kindly request that he refrains from further contacting and harassing me through email. I assure him that if such harassment continues, I will be compelled to seek alternative means to address this matter.

I HAVE OPTED OUT 5 TIMES THROUGH DIFFERENT CHANNELS, BUT WEEKS LATER I STILL GET THREATENING EMAILS. I SIGNED UP THE FIRST WEEK OF APRIL AND CANCELLED AN HOUR LATER. A MONTH LATER..IM STILL IN THEIR SYSTEM. THINK TWICE, OR TRY TO OPT OUT FOR THE NEXT MONTH OR SO. THANK YOU.

Hi, Stephanie,
I am not sure what you mean when you write, "LAPTOPS ARE NOT THE BEST CHOICE FOR THIS SERVICE".
Likewise, I don't understand most of your review.
I suspect you have us mixed up with a different company.
However, if not, please do edit your review to include your order number, or email me about this at [email protected] so I can go above and beyond to fix any and all issues you may be having.
For reference, OnlineBookClub offers a 100% satisfaction guarantee with all of our services. So if you are a customer of ours I'll happily give you a full refund.
Thank you,
Scott

Account has not been solved
I found out that this online book club is a fraud, in their website they told me to connect their linkedin and other social media platform to get points and entries, the fact is that my account on their website was blocked after I connected it, And it turns out that the people who commented badly about this website were right. The next action I will take is to completely shut down this website, with my excuse that they refuse to settle my account professionally. They deliberately provide fake books for users to read and cause accounts to be blocked, they ask have I ever read this book? with dialog box and answer even though I clearly wrote there that I have never read them,They asked me to appeal by sending the so-called special verification code to facebook, done that. However, they tried to find fault by bringing up the review I made before which is (Review ID 61004)I was given 2 options written as below:-
1.) My PRQ is inaccurate. I made a mistake.
2.) My PRQ is accurate. The author made a mistake.
While on this page it says your response is written as following below:-
The review has been rejected, and thus the dispute is considered closed. No additional response or action is required by you at this time.
If I am forced to blame the author of the book, I will have to meet with the author of the book, I am not a person who freely makes bad comments about others without knowing the reason especially what happen right now.
I read which case (Review ID 61004) which it was emailed to me on Mar 12, 2023, 12:30 AM
Which of these is about the final decision given by the editor and review team, in the email there are no PRQ's stated in the email. I am satisfied with the result of getting a score of 3, and the PRQ is not counted, this is the final result of me getting a score of 3 and will hope in the future to be the best review writer. I concluded that here I did not do anything wrong, im a registered user not team reviewer or editor, but my account was blocked or banned for no real reason. I want my account to be resolved not in this way by being blocked at will without any real solution.

As an author, avoid
As an author, received an unsolicited email asking to sign up. Had to enter my details to find out more, then realised they were charging hundreds of $$$ to include your book and making ridiculous claims about getting it to bestseller lists. Not interested. Then kept getting spam from them. If you get messaged asking to submit your book, chuck in bin.

Beware not what it seems
I have been a member of onlinebookclub for years off and on because you get paid to write reviews. I usually get $5 a review if it's a book I'm interested in. They keep trying to get everyone to add them on social media (The owner Scott). Just recently I was invited to do a review for $100 on (Scott's new book book) which is suppose to be a best seller. It's only a best seller because he's paying people $100. To he book is about $30 with shipping and everything from Barnes and Nobles but it takes about 2 weeks to come in. It takes 3 weeks for them to verify you purchase the book and another week or so for them to reject you. So basically, you do the review and it gets rejected and you don't get anything but a crappy book that sucks. The guy is a horrible writer and if this is how he sell books, I no longer want to read them. Please don't fall for this scam. He uses aliases to sell his books by getting people to buy them and in exchange for money. Lucky for me I was able to return the book, so I didn't lose anything but time. If you purchase the book it still falls under holiday shopping so you can return it until January 31. Good luck and I hope this review helps.
Update:
So if you leave a negative review exposing the truth about your experience, Scott will continue is to send you emails so you can change it. If you noticed he sent it to 3 of my emails. I asked him to stop contacting me and spamming my emails because I will not change my review. In his most recent email he even tried to threaten my business that I started during pandemic that I don’t even have anymore. Very distasteful and unprofessional for any business. Please Beware.

COMPLETE SCAM
As I was asked more information I will provide it so future reviewers don't fall in this trap called OnlineBookClub.
The system is made so your efforts will be thrown to the trash, as the sole goal of this page is not paying their reviewers and they'll do whatever they can. The score system is made so, if one review is bad you can never get middle payed reviews or even get payed for at leasts another four or five 100% score reviews. Even then, you cannot control if your review is good or not, I sent the SAME review with two different accounts and in one account got a 100% editors' score and a 7% (Rejected) editors' score, stating that I had several (made up) grammar errors and that I didn't follow the guidelines, why was the second one rejected one may ask? Because I finally had in this second account enough points to get payed, so no no, review rejected asap. Moreover, they will put traps in between like setting fake books to review to banish you from the review team. In case this happens, you not only do not get payed for your previous reviews but also have to refund the money they had previously given to you. Appealing in this cases is impossible, they do respond, but with a: "I'll send it to my manager, please allow up to 2 business days'' Which no surprise is infinite business days. When reading the guidelines it states that you cannot post bad reviews outside the page while being a reviwer, I think I know now why they are so concerned about that, BECAUSE IT IS INDEED A SCAM.

Scammers who do not honor pay
I am very disheartened by their deceitful tactics. They tricked me into unpaid labor. Do not click the links they email you, they will not honor the pay as stated and will blatantly tell you so after publishing your review for their own use. I received multiple emails from Scott to write my first review for pay. This was the offer. I decided to click the link, got the book, reviewed, and weeks later it was accepted and published. When asking for my due pay i got the run around and was told i would be paid for the next review i write, not this one. This was never stated before and I wrote for pay not the promise of future work. Finally Scott himself also writes back that if i claimed the book did it say it was paid as i did it? I clicked on a link that you sent stating paid review for this particular book within the time frame. This is just a tactic to get free labor. They managed to get one of their books reviewed, failed to pay the reviewer then invite me for extra work. Buyer beware, a complete scam that will waste your time and energy. I do not recommend this site to any serious review writers expecting to be paid for their work.
