We test: Omega-3 Index Vitamin D Prenatal DHA Mother's Milk DHA Our goal is to offer the highest quality analytical services to researchers and to provide simple tests of nutritional status to consumers, with the ultimate purpose of advancing the science and use of nutrients to improve health. Shop Tests Our Story Dr. Bill Harris, a leading expert in omega-3 fatty acids, founded OmegaQuant in 2009. He obtained his Ph.D. in Human Nutrition from the University of Minnesota and did post-doctoral fellowships in Clinical Nutrition and Lipid Metabolism with Dr. Bill Connor at the Oregon Health Sciences University. His interest in omega-3 fatty acids began with his postdoctoral work when he published his first study on the effects of salmon oil on serum lipids in humans (1980). Since that time he has been the recipient of five NIH grants for studies on the effects of omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) on human health. He has more than 350 publications relating to fatty acids, including omega-3s, in medical literature and was an author on two American Heart Association scientific statements on fatty acids: “Fish Consumption, Fish Oil, Omega-3 Fatty Acids and Cardiovascular Disease” (2002), and “Omega-6 Fatty Acids and Risk for Cardiovascular Disease” (2009) both published in the journal Circulation. Dr. Harris co-invented the Omega-3 Index in 2004 and made it commercially available to the research community and the public in 2009. To date, the Omega-3 Index has been used as the standard measure of omega-3 status in more than 200 clinical studies. Dr. Harris is also a Professor in the Department of Medicine in the Sanford School of Medicine at the University of South Dakota. Great service and very professional. Submitted 2 tests at the same time and still waiting for results of second test. Not sure what happened to second test.

I do like this to have the ability to check my phone numbers on certain testing without overpaying a lab locally. My only question would be that three months ago. My vitamin D level was 100 so I cut my vitamin D supplements in half and now I’m at a 20 and I find that hard to believe That it would go down that low in three months still taking 4000 IU Once a day. Does that seem odd to you? I would love to know your opinion . Thank you, Jim

I still do not understand the measurement they're providing. Percentage of what I ask? How is the reference range constructed?

The process was simple and easy. Results delivered on time and easy to understand. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because when registering my test kit they asked if I take a fish oil supplement and how often I eat fish. What???? When my cholesterol is tested they don't ask if I eat meat or how often. I makes me suspect of the quality of the test.

I was very pleased with the OmegaQuant Omega Plus testing kit, the analysis and, overall, the service. They alerted me when they received my sample back and gave me a timeline for when I could expect the results, which they stuck to. The only thing that didn't quite go according to plan was that the kit took 9 days to arrive after I ordered. This could've been the postal service that was used but it was a bit worrying at the time.

This test was very simple to do. It was safe to do in our own home then send off to the lab. We were informed of every step of the process from the test being ordered, shipped to us, when it was received at the lab and processed and the results. It took less than 2 weeks to get the results back by email.

Very easy Process from standpoint of collection and submission and also priced reasonably. Would be nice if results were faster...
