I needed my daughter’s MacBook Air…
I needed my daughter’s MacBook Air A2337 repaired due to a no-backlight issue. I have been watching NorthridgeFix videos for several years and have also purchased electronic repair tools from the website multiple times, so I felt confident sending the laptop to NorthridgeFix for repair. Because my daughter needed the laptop for school, I needed the repair completed as quickly as possible. I included a $95 money order for the expedited service, which I understood guaranteed a turnaround time of 9 days. NorthridgeFix received the laptop on Monday, August 17, 2026. I waited until Sunday, August 30—13 days after it was received—before requesting that the laptop be returned to me. At that point, my daughter needed it for school, and I decided I could have it repaired locally instead. Two days later, on Tuesday, September 1 at 9:15 AM, I received the following message through the NorthridgeFix messaging system: “Hello, thanks for reaching out. I am going to check on the status of this for you, and let you know as soon as we have an update from our tech.” Later that same morning, at 9:57 AM, I received another message: “Hello. Your device was a no-fix, unfortunately. There was no short circuit detected, and thermal imaging showed no areas of concern. All diagnostic options within the allocated time were exhausted without success. The issue may be CPU-related. The device is deemed a no-fix. An invoice for the repair attempt + return shipping will be emailed to you shortly. If you do not need the device back, let us know and we can recycle it. Otherwise, you can pay the invoice and we'll ship out your package asap.” I received the invoice for $113.78 and paid it at approximately 3:56 PM that same day so that the laptop could be returned. It has now been another 9 days, and I am still waiting for the laptop to be shipped back. I have sent messages asking for the shipping status and have received no response. At this point, I have spent a total of $231.78, including the $95 expedited-service fee, the $113.78 invoice, and my original cost to ship the laptop to NorthridgeFix. The laptop was not repaired, the expedited turnaround time was not met, and I am still waiting for the laptop to be returned. I would also like clarification regarding the $95 expedited-service money order. Since the promised 9-day expedited turnaround was not met, will the $95 be refunded or returned to me? I have enjoyed watching NorthridgeFix for years and respect the repair work shown on the channel, which is one of the reasons I chose to send the laptop there in the first place. Unfortunately, my experience with the repair service and customer service has been very disappointing. I would appreciate an immediate update on the return shipping of my daughter’s MacBook Air and confirmation regarding the refund of the $95 expedited-service fee. Thank you.
