Sold a $450+ glove that was never broken in — then told a flat-out lie about it
I ordered a youth baseball glove costing over $400, choosing this company specifically for its reputation for quality and service. That reputation did not survive contact with my actual order. The glove (Order #B-97560) shipped the same day I ordered it — placed at 2:15pm and picked up by FedEx at 4:59pm the same afternoon. For a product that's advertised as taking +2 business days to break in, that timeline makes it physically impossible for that step to have happened. The glove arrived sealed in plastic and clearly untouched. On top of that, the "free Father's Day gift" that was supposed to be included was nowhere in the box. When I flagged both issues, the response was slow and, once it came, admitted the mistake — I was told to call in for a return label so the glove could actually be broken in and the missing gift added. Fine. Mistakes happen. What turned this from a disappointing order into a 1-star review was the phone call. The customer service rep insisted the glove had been broken in — despite the company's own website stating the process takes +2 business days, and despite the glove having shipped within hours of my order. Being told something that contradicts both basic timing and the company's own published policy isn't a mistake; it's being told a story and expected to accept it. I don't expect perfection. I expect that when a company gets something wrong on a premium product, its people own it instead of denying reality to my face. This one didn't. Save your money.
