RATING
RATING: 1 star I booked an interstate move from Ewing NJ to Atlanta GA in September 2026. NJ Moving LLC (USDOT 4347233, MC 01699275) was the carrier that performed it. PICKUP DAY The driver arrived with an 1,850 cubic foot truck and announced my price was now $7,500 — more than double the original quote. I pleaded for hours. I called Northern Relocation's customer service, and the representative told me, in substance, that I was at the mercy of the truck driver and there was nothing they could do. They also blamed me for my own belongings, despite the fact that THEY set the cubic footage and THEY declined to do an inventory until I forced one. By then my house was packed and my closing date was fixed. There was no realistic option but to pay. THEY DEMANDED CASH — NO CREDIT CARD They required 50% before the truck was loaded, and they would only accept cash or Zelle. No credit card. Anyone who has dealt with consumer fraud knows exactly why: cash and Zelle are irreversible and leave you with no chargeback rights. This alone should be a red flag to anyone reading this. Even after paying $7,500, the crew loaded the truck in such a way that two full bedrooms were left behind. The movers told me it would cost an ADDITIONAL $2,000 to take the rest of my belongings. DELIVERY — DIFFERENT TRUCK, DIFFERENT CREW A white truck picked up my belongings. A yellow truck delivered them. The crew that disassembled my furniture was not the crew that delivered it. At delivery, the manager at NJ Moving LLC, refused to unload a single item until the balance was paid, and threatened to take my belongings back to New Jersey if I did not pay in cash. Again, no credit card. I paid under duress. Many of my items arrived damaged — I have photographs. Agreed service was unload, reassemble, place. They assembled two beds, one dresser, one vanity, then left. Two sofas still sit shrink-wrapped in my garage. Destroyed (all photographed): marble table gouged, irreplaceable antique giltwood table with the carving broken away, column pedestal snapped and secretly taped, vanity with wiring ripped loose, ornamental moulding shattered, chandelier ruined, gouged door frames.
