Learn from my mistake. Don't waste a dime on this.
I originally invested in a startup on NetCapital back in Dec of 2020. Out of 5 startups, one has recently given any info. The other 4 are dead silent. I'm getting ready to try and get answers from the companies themselves as NetCapital isn't any help at all. But I'm certainly not holding my breath either. I'm expecting the "Sucks to be you" response. Because NetCapital is just an intermediary, the startups you're trying to invest in can easily ignore you. NetCapital gets their money from the startups, so they have no need to be dedicated to the investors. You will find out absolutely nothing from NetCapital about your investments. And the startups almost always stop giving updates, ignore any questions asked of them and you're just left there sitting in limbo. Just assume that you WILL lose any money you put into this. You cannot sell or trade, no matter how long you hold onto your investments. Again, I've had mine for 6 years with nothing to show for it, including hope. And you will not be informed if your investment is a total loss. Find a good investment firm that trades in actual stocks, watch for IPO's if you want to limit how much you want to spend. At least then you'll be able to get updates and be informed when your investment is worthless instead of just being ignored.
