Believe the early warning signs…
I had issues with a client and began to see red flags early on in the contract. Problems started at the beginning during the interview process; the client couldn't invest 10 mins to speak to me to confirm if I actually qualified for the role. I explained this concern to my recruiter who didn't seem to mind nor make note of the issue (may not have cared). Later on, I experienced anxiety with job duties because what was being asked of me, was NOT included in the job description. I then explained this situation to my recruiter that I wasn't sure if I could complete the assignment and for good reason. The recruiter didn't give me any direction on how to handle this situation, so I thought about leaving before my time was up. The client (manager) was all over the place (disorganized, overworked, overwhelmed, and dysfunctional) and I had to rely heavily on them to know what to do next (something I wasn't expecting, nor felt like I should have to do). The manager and senior leadership was never in the office long enough to provide the necessary "work" I needed to complete, because they spent a large portion of their time overseas. Work duties were given out by senior leadership when they were available and in-town to work. When the team was out of town, there was nothing for me to do because my job is aligned with documentation they provide. I spent the majority of my time training for this role where I would only perform my ACTUAL duties ONCE. The other times I was either completing activities not-aligned to my work duties or simply training. This went on for 4 months (on a 12 month+ contract). My assignment with this client ended early (which I was told it was because I was "unable to work independently). I emailed my recruiter all the evidence I had created during those months (to include screenshots) showing the numerous issues experienced and conversations made while on the job (defending myself). It made no difference. I was let go. Net2Source stood behind the client and would no longer work to help me find another job. It was a terrible experience and I would never recommend this company to anyone.
