Aggressive billing for unused account…
Aggressive billing for unused account and pressure with debt collection Our experience with NeoPay has been extremely disappointing and concerning. Our company opened an account, but never used it. No transactions were performed, no services were consumed, and no commercial activity took place. Despite this, NeoPay started issuing invoices and later demanded payment, threatening to transfer the matter to debt collection agencies. Only after we formally objected did NeoPay explain that the charges relate to a “monthly administrative fee” allegedly included in the agreement — a fee applied regardless of account usage. This was never clearly highlighted during onboarding, nor was informed consent to ongoing paid maintenance adequately ensured. Even more troubling is NeoPay’s position that the account cannot be closed unless the disputed invoices are paid first. In our view, conditioning account closure on payment of a contested amount is an improper restriction on the client’s right to terminate the relationship and contradicts basic principles of good faith and fair dealing. Instead of resolving the dispute transparently, NeoPay continued to insist on payment and referenced debt collection — an approach that feels disproportionate, aggressive, and unprofessional, especially for a fintech company operating in a regulated environment. Based on this experience, we strongly advise other businesses to carefully review NeoPay’s contracts, especially clauses related to fixed fees and termination, before opening an account. We do not recommend NeoPay due to unclear billing practices, poor customer-centricity, and unnecessary escalation of disputes.
