Very disappointing product and even…
Very disappointing product and even more disappointing after-sales resolution. As others have mentioned, customer support initially appears friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, in my experience, this turned into months of repetitive troubleshooting: software updates, firmware upgrades, changing settings, recording videos and repeatedly providing evidence of the faults. After spending a considerable amount of my own time helping them troubleshoot their product, the issues are still not resolved. Their eventual solution? Return the unit at my own expense and receive approximately 40% of what I originally paid. The problems I have experienced with my A5L include CarPlay regularly struggling to connect, voice/audio repeatedly cutting out during phone calls, and extremely poor performance when trying to use the Android side of the unit. The performance is probably the biggest disappointment. These units are advertised as Android head units capable of running apps such as YouTube, Netflix and more, which sounds great when you are comparing products. In reality, my A5L is so slow and unresponsive that using these features is frustrating enough that I simply don’t bother. A long list of advertised features is meaningless when the hardware struggles to run them properly. What disappoints me most is that I reported the problems less than three months after purchasing the unit. Instead of immediately demanding my money back, I cooperated with their support team and gave them plenty of opportunity to fix it. Months later, after all the troubleshooting I completed for them, I was offered a 40% refund if I returned the unit at my own expense. So effectively, I would lose around 60% of the purchase price despite having reported the faults within the first few months and despite their troubleshooting never resolving them. Luckily, I purchased the cheaper A5L rather than spending significantly more on one of their X10 models. I was actually considering upgrading to one of their premium units, but after experiencing the quality of this product and, more importantly, the way the unresolved faults have been handled, I would be extremely reluctant to give this company any more of my money. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend the A5L, and I strongly suggest potential buyers consider the after-sales experience as well as the impressive-looking feature list before purchasing.
