Hi Katie, thank you for your review of Mission Discovery! We're so glad to hear that you enjoyed Nathan and Molly as our team leaders. They were honored to be a part of your experience. I'm sorry to hear that you were confused by the other family being there - We love it when families have the desire to serve and always have a conversation with group leaders to make sure there are no issues with them joining on the trip. Your group leader approved the addition of the family before your trip, but may not have let you know. As for food options, we definitely understand how important it is to have gluten-free choices and tried to accommodate those as best as we could. I apologize if there were any areas where we fell short and would love to discuss this further with you. Please feel free to reach out to [email protected] anytime. Our bus drivers are a great asset to our team and I'm glad you had a good experience with them. Thank you also for sharing your God sightings, they are always a blessing! We are so glad to hear about your experience with Mission Discovery, Ellie. I know it's not always easy being a part of this type of ministry work and we thank you for the time you have given us. We are committed to making sure that each person who participates in our trips has an opportunity to grow spiritually and personally during their time on the field. I'm sorry to hear that there were days where you felt like what we were doing didn't do much good - I want to assure you that every day is important when working with people living in poverty. It sounds like God was speaking through these moments too! Thank you for sharing how He spoke into your heart while on this trip.

Hi Karen, Thank you for your review. We apologize if this trip is not what you were expecting, and we are confident and thankful that while this year may have required more flexibility, you were able to experience God and be part of what He is doing in the area. It is a long and thoughtful effort on our part to choose ministry partners who have been and will be working in the community on a long term basis. Once we commit to a ministry partner, we stick with them for years. Some of our ministry partners become like family to us. This is especially true with South Dakota. Unfortunately, our ministry partner (who was like family) passed away in recent years, and we have had to place more focus on serving in other ways, which many people love. Our website description was changed quite a while ago to reflect our new projects, but it is possible that you read the previous description at some point. If you were expecting to work on the Reservation with the Lakota population, no doubt, this was a different trip. Thank you for serving at Love Inc with us. They are a wonderful organization that is helping the community with many programs. Your work, understanding and flexibility this year is very much appreciated. We cannot wait to serve with you again.
