Our trip with Mission Discovery was awesome. My biggest God sighting was the connection of our students. We brought a smaller group than we had planned on and they were students from all walks of life with different passions and interests. Yet, after just a few hours in the car they all became so close. I was fearful that once we got back to our student ministry things would revert back, but they didn't. They all showed up and searched for one another to continue reminiscing on a wonderful trip. We had one student go from shutting us out to embracing us all, we had others have epiphanies about their lives not being about themselves, we got to watch our students say yes to every opportunity to serve. I hadn't seen such wonderful optimism like theirs that week. Our week was transformational and I couldn't be more grateful.

I felt like our mission trip was quite organized, and we were able to not only help some of the residents of Waverly with our hands, our feet, and our hearts, but we also had the opportunity to sit down with some of the residents and get to hear their story. It was also nice to see the enthusiasm of our group along with the other volunteers trying to make a difference for those who had to go through such a life-changing experience with the Waverly flood of 2021.

My grandson and I had a wonderful experience with Mission Discovery working in TN from everyone we met, worked with, or worked for in an effort to restore their homes. Can't wait to go again next year!

I got to bring our youth group to Puerto Rico with Mission Discovery and we had an incredible time! Our teens and leaders grew through the opportunities they had to serve in the community and through the programs each night. We loved getting to meet other families and individuals who attended and still remain in contact with many of them!

Our church participated in the Mission Discovery effort to help the people of Waverly, TN July 11-16. In August 2021, Waverly experienced a flood and many people needed help repairing their homes. Waverly was a new mission effort for Mission Discovery this year. Our experience was very positive, and both spiritually and personally rewarding. Mission Discovery provided a turn key operation, coordinating the lodging and meals arrangements. Every evening time was given for a worship service, small groups discussions and very morning a devotional. We worked with the local churches to prioritize the work. We worked on numerous houses that ranged from basic electrical work, putting in insulation and dry wall, painting, building a deck, to final cleaning in prep for the family to move back into their house. The Mission Discovery staff kept us well informed and provided many examples of the community’s churches working together to help the people. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and look to continue mission trips.

I took a group of high schoolers to Westmoreland, TN. It was our first time working with Mission Discovery. It was so nice having them structure the week, finding the families that need help, and having a church cook the meals. That as a leader was a weight off my load which was helpful! As well as our group got to work at the same home all week, so as we were there multiple days our students grew their relationships with the home owners. Trust was built between both them and our group. On multiple occasions our students were able to pray over different people and hear their stories. Also the on grounds cordinators - Nate and Josh - did incredible always helping us serve to the best we could. What fun guys to lead our week. Also, our construction coordinator, David, was so patient to teach our kids and willing to give them responsibility. What awesome relationships we were able to build over our week with Mission Discovery. God is moving and He is using Mission Discovery to train kids (and adults) to serve His Kingdom.

I felt the teams were great and worked really hard. We almost ran out of work for them to do…but they seemed fine with it…they were really tired by the end of the workweek.
