The trip was great from one aspect of having all my friends with me to do service work, but being able to see the joy on the childrens face's when playing with them.

The team I was working with and the food was excellent. I enjoyed our chapel time and small group time. I really enjoyed sharing the word with Ela, the home owner of the home we were working on.

The experience was great. I was glad we could help the families we did, and I was especially glad we could leave them a Bible in their own language. The teens in our group did well, either helping with the work or playing with the neighbor kids. Both were important. The only concern I had was the actual construction of the houses. I have been involved in construction in the US for over 30 years. I felt the construction could have been better if there had been a slight upgrade on some of the materials. I will say that I have never been to Guatemala before, and I don't know how readily materials are available. Maybe this was all that was available. I know things are done differently in different parts of the world. My son is serving on the field in Africa, and I know their construction can be quite a bit different than in the US. I had never seen such poverty as what I saw. Even in the situation they were in, they were some of the most joyful and gracious people I have ever met. Overall, it was a good experience, and I am glad my daughter and I went.

We're thrilled to hear that your mission trip was a great experience and that you found joy in helping families and leaving them Bibles in their own language. It's heartening to know that the teens in your group contributed meaningfully, both in work and play. We appreciate your insights regarding the construction materials and understand your perspective, given your extensive experience in the US. Availability of materials can indeed vary greatly in different parts of the world, and we always strive to make the best use of what's available locally. It's touching to hear about your encounter with the gracious and joyful people despite their challenging circumstances. Thank you for your valuable feedback and for being part of our mission. We hope you and your daughter will join us on future trips.
