This was truly a humbling and yet fulfilling experience. Meeting those we came to serve one on one, interacting with the kids, much less the beautiful countryside was just WOW! Our group encountered the spiritual war being fought both in our travel to and from Guatemala. If it could go wrong, it did. Yet throughout the trials, God's hand was there as an ever steady presence. Mission Discovery is a small devote team of believers who are endeavoring to change lives. Hiccups are going to occur when you're doing God's work and the smiles and encouragement by the Mission Discovery team are steadfast through it all. I am so blessed to have been a part of this trip.

On my trip to Guatemala, I saw the Lord move exponentially. From Kairos, to the job sites building homes, to meal deliveries, to just hanging out with the other guys on the trip, I felt incredibly spiritually encouraged and intimate with God. Mission Discovery definitely helped everything run smoothly, and were very helpful when we had questions on logistics. 10/10 would, and probably will go again.

I never would have experienced Guatemala if it wasn't for this mission trip. Mission Discovery made it super simple so I was able to get out of my comfort zone and just be the hands and feet of God. Built in excursions and worship sessions made the experience well-rounded and unforgettable.

What made this mission trip great was the unity that we had with the people of Guatemala we served together. We had many adversities including travel, difficulties, illnesses, deaths of family/ friend members, a fire, a volcano erupting etc. The gratitudes came through God‘s goodness when we laid our hands on and prayed with family members, read and left Bible verses for homeowners, taught the children about the gospel, painted a school with the students at the school, talked intimately about our faith and our growth in the spirit. My amazement comes with the skeleton crew that is working for Mission Discovery. Although it would be nice to have a scripted well planned itinerary to execute…as you can see from the list above it is nearly impossible with the adversity as we faced. Flexibility for leaders, mission discovery leaders is imperative. I am forever grateful for this experience to grow in Christ!

Mission Discovery organized an amazing mission trip for our group with meaningful projects, worship, and interactions with people. Through God-sightings and storytelling, the Mission Discovery staff helped our group understand the importance of being God's hands and feet in a world that needs to see His light shining in the darkness!

It was good just want to see different places and help out where needed I will be doing more like this in the future

Our team was FANTASTIC. I’ve been with Mission Discovery once before and our leaders weren’t as top notch as Ismael and Beatriz. They worked right along with us but also took the time to get to know us and have meaningful connections. Josh was awesome, of course, too. It was nice being in a smaller setting to really get to know him and the team and their stories. I love that Mission Discovery has a connection and relationship with the locals we’re helping. I like knowing Pastor Elvis will be kept up with and it isn’t just a one and done trip. Overall, it was a great experience and I couldn’t have asked for better leaders.

Ismael, Beatrice, and Josh made sure we had everything we needed. They worked alongside us as hard as we did. Pastor Elvis and members of his church made sure we were fed really well! I’m not going to lie. It was HOT! It was HARD! But it was so WORTH IT! Seeing how we worked so well as a team was amazing. We all looked after one another making sure we got plenty of water and rest when needed. I can’t wait to do it again next year!
