I had the most amazing experience serving with mission discovery. I made so many memories with my group and serving others was so rewarding.

I loved how everyone who was there, was very kind and caring. Everyone there works together to get stuff done. The worship team there is really good, and I loved the songs that were played. One god sitting I had was when me and a few other people from my group found a homeless man, we talked to him, prayed over him, and got him to surrender his life over to God/Jesus.

I had an amazing experience. The whole mission trip was very well organized. We were able to serve people and spread gospel. Building houses for the underserved was an amazing experience. Mission discovery was very well organized in placing Knowledgeable leaders To guide us through it all. I was Able to see God and everything we did.

The mission discovery team was absolutely amazing! They were very kind and showed leadership in the kitchen, during worksites, during devotionals and during worship. This group was very God centered, and although the main leaders had many battles in their personal lives, they gladly served us as we served them. They were awesome!

The team was really well at keeping everyone together and even if some didn’t share they were amazing at getting people involved with sharing god sightings and some kids even did kickstart.

From the very start, this mission trip stood out as a truly remarkable experience—one that will resonate in my heart for years to come. The trip was not only impeccably organized, but every detail was attended to with care and intention, creating an environment where both teens and adults felt safe, valued, and inspired to serve. The leaders played an extraordinary role throughout our time together. Their dedication, encouragement, and hands-on guidance shaped each day into an opportunity for growth. They were always present, ready with a word of support, a listening ear, or a gentle nudge toward deeper reflection. Not only did they manage the logistics seamlessly, but they also fostered meaningful conversations and cultivated a sense of unity and purpose among the group. One of the highlights for me was our evening gatherings after serving, including the small group time. These moments became sacred, as we shared stories of the day and celebrated “God-sightings”—those instances when we recognized God at work in the world and within ourselves. Hearing the teens express their awe, gratitude, and discovery was deeply moving. It was evident that these experiences were awakening something profound in them: a new awareness of the divine in everyday life. What made this trip especially memorable was the way our leaders encouraged the youth not only to notice God’s presence during our mission, but to carry that awareness home with them, to look for God’s hand in the ordinary, to serve with open eyes and open hearts wherever they are. The lessons learned on this trip were not just for a week, but for a lifetime. I am deeply grateful for the leaders’ example and for the way they equipped and empowered each of us to serve, listen, and grow. This mission trip was more than a journey; it was a catalyst for transformation and a testament to the power of faith in action. I highly recommend this experience to anyone seeking to serve, connect, and deepen their understanding of God at work in the world and within themselves.

ADDITIONAL COSTS AND PLANNING CONSIDERATIONS: While planning your trip, it is essential to be mindful of potential additional costs that may arise. For instance, married couples who desire a private room should anticipate an extra fee. Uniquely, on this trip, the additional cost was higher than in previous years and was not communicated until after registration had been completed. Furthermore, requests for items needed for the work—often initiated by a small subgroup—can lead to further optional expenses. Although participation in these requests is voluntary, such costs can accumulate over time. This serves as a helpful reminder to plan carefully, as unexpected expenses may surface even after registration and payment have been finalized. ORGANIZATION OF THE WORK WEEK: The work week is exceptionally well managed, with a thoughtfully constructed daily schedule. Participants are divided into small groups and assigned to a variety of projects, each team receiving the necessary tools and materials to accomplish their tasks. This comprehensive preparation empowers every participant to contribute meaningfully and make a tangible impact through their work. VACATION DAY EXPERIENCE: Mission Discovery typically concludes each trip with a 'vacation' day, designed to offer relaxation and enjoyment after a week of service. Generally, this day is well planned and serves as a welcome opportunity to unwind. However, during the Africa trip, the initial vacation day was less satisfying. The itinerary involved many hours of travel to a special location, allowing only a brief hour for lunch and another short hour for activities, before embarking on further hours of travel to the next hotel. In all, approximately ten hours were spent on the road, with just two hours dedicated to relaxation—a schedule that proved less fulfilling. In contrast, the following day’s one-day safari in Krueger Park was a highlight, featuring rare wildlife sightings and bringing joy to all participants. FINAL RECOMMENDATION: Mission Discovery comes highly recommended for anyone seeking a well-organized, impactful mission trip experience. The organization’s legitimacy and care for its participants are evident, and travelers often return home transformed and grateful for the opportunity.

Thank you the opportunity to share how impacted I was on this Missions trip to Guatemala. I felt like a lot of activities were set and packed for the days we were there; and were completed!!! I never thought I would build a new house! I could see the grateful response by the families that received the two houses (rooms) and the stove built. Of course, nothing like here in the USA but nonetheless, it was a blessing to bless others. The food and cleaning packages were received with joy by the individual families. The VBS was excellent and children actively joined what we did, between songs, activities and the biblical stories told. I did see many God sights, but one was how the people responded to our love hugs offered and received. My heart was filled with joy when the people received Jesus as Savior in many of the homes that we visited. Lastly, I made friends with some excellent special people that had the same heart full of the love of Christ like myself. There is so much more I can write... but last but not least I feel in love Guatemala and thee people. What God allowed us to do for His Glory and His Honor is priceless!!!! Thank you!!!
