Good credit builder card. But the hardship program they have in place is a gimmick. I was told that once you complete hardship program payments then the regular payments will resume and that would put you back in good standing to use the card. Apparently, they closed the account at the time I ask if they had an hardship program due to being laid off from my job. I just found out that they dated the account closed prior to being place on the hardship program. They never mentioned my account was closed until after going back to regular payments. The reviews were good at the time of the offer to open the account. Apparently that was a scam too.😕 I should have read the reviews on this platform first.😟 Lesson learned!

I received a new credit card to replace my old card. I had been trying to activate the new card online for several days and kept receiving error messages. On 6/10/26, I called and spoke to Brittney who got my information and transfer me to the activation line. After entering all the information they asked for, I was then transferred to the fraud department. After giving all the information a 3rd time, all of this was because I called to them in March to update a phone number. Now, they have escalated this information as confirmed (which I did in March) and it takes 10 days to update and I need to call back in 10 days for them to activate the new card. I cannot use the card until I call back. Well, great news for me. I only use this card about once a year to keep the account open so I probably will not call back. 15 minutes on the phone and nothing is resolved is a waste of my time. On 6/11, I started reading other reviews. My letter with my new card doesn't mention an annual fee. Now, I'm about to call them again to check on this.

Froze my account ($0 Balance) when I tried to change my phone number. They are NOT willing to help without redoing the whole process all over again. SHAM

Bad business. I fell in to hard times last year just like many other people. I had two kids hospitalized for serious health conditions (bone marrow transplant and another coming out of remission and having a new baby.) I had to take unpaid FMLA. I NEVER, EVER paid Mercury late I did have to almost max it out aside from about 500 but isn’t that my right at the rate I signed up with????. Went through ALL of my savings. Even though I have paperless communication on I randomly received a letter that I might not even have opened stating that they were moving my Mercury card acct to a 35.99 % interest rate and charging me a 99.00 a year fee. By June 11th Due to the fact that my credit score had dropped to subpar. I could refuse this and close my acct so long as I kept paying and called to deny the new terms. I’ve recently went back to work and I will be on track again to earn my usual respectable income. But catching back up takes time especially if not a single bill has been late from any company in the last 3 years. I would go hungry just to pay on time (Spouse died in 2021 and I had a bankruptcy) when I called to close my acct and deny what Mercury bank was about to do to me. Just by sheer luck opened the deadline letter…. Their scripted verbatim phone response was so insulting!!! “Thank you for being a valued mercury card holder and to get you to stay and accept the new terms we will give you a one time courtesy payment of 50.00, which will cover half of the yearly fee one time that we will be charging immediately lol 😂 I couldn’t even hold back my maniacal laughing, because these companies must think we are desperate and stupid. I will tell everyone that I ever meet when discussing credit how dirty this bank is. Kicking people when they are down trapping them in debt. Smh humanity doesn’t exist in corporations or private entities… but let’s just all keep ignoring the obvious. Screw you Mercury Card. I’ll have you paid off as soon as possible so that you don’t get anymore money from me then you should. VERY ANGRY CONSUMER

If I could give it zero stars I would. First off they have the worst online site I have ever seen. There is absolutely NO way to see when a payment was made. There is NO way to email them, and there is NO way to chat. I also asked for a one time fee waiver since I have never ever been late and they flat out told me NO. Cards like Amex, Bank of America, Discover all gave me a fee waiver because that month I wound up in the hospital and was just one day late. This company did not, I cannot wait to pay them off and adios. I do NOT recommend them at all.

Spent over an hour on the phone with one gentleman that told me that I could pay a settlement using my bank account call the next day and they told me I could not. Cannot understand the first person I talk to. As he read my rights to me. I had them on a piece of paper and he mispronounced many of the words. Very sketchy please do not get this credit card.

If I could rate it negative I certainly would. I have had this card for a year $3500 credit limit never carried a balance. Charged $2,800 to it to pay for parts online paid the bill the following week via ACH like always and they didn’t bother to reflect my available credit to $3500 for almost 3 weeks. Call and inquire what’s going on and got some clown on the phone who barely knew English and gave me some song and dance for 15 minutes. I cancelled my card and now they keep begging me to come back.

They froze my card because I changed my phone number back on February, they never notified me. When I attempted to purchase something, I looked like a clown. I get notifications and I can still access the account, I kept paying my card, so I never noticed. Horrible company. I called them on May 8th to get it fixed, I then tried following up with them on May 28th, it’s still frozen. Incompetent. I even gave them my SSN information and secret answers, it is still frozen.
