Online order for a closed coolant cap
I need a part number 879288003 ( coolant cap ) which I couldn’t source in the UK. Only place I found where I could find these parts were in the USA. Looked numerous sites and found Mercruiserparts.com . Not only a reasonable price but they also shipped to the UK. I hadn’t ordered from them before or even purchased from abroad but it was very straightforward. Looked up the part. Was able to confirm through their diagrams it was the correct part. Ordered online and sent an email promptly. They also emailed to say that the shipping price didn’t include any customs clearance costs in the UK, so be prepared. I checked the Gov Uk website so I expect a VAT charge but that’s fine as I need the parts. I confirm with mercruiser parts.com that I was happy to proceed. Quick was the response and they went ahead with a tracking number for UPS after I had selected UPS as the courier. I had updates once it was shipped from the warehouse through to UPS and was able to see the parts sent from Florida through to Stansted airport. UPS van turns up Friday morning, less than a week since ordering the parts. Thanks again- Given me confidence in ordering through this company.
