They are scammers. Charged me many thousands and never sold one book. Then came back and charged me for storage, book returns and threatened to destroy all my books by a certain date if I didn’t pay. I stopped writing for children after working with them

Amplify Publishing Group (otherwise know as Mascot Books) had my book for a handful of years. Very quickly, my husband began to believe they were misplacing the royalties. After much research, we found out they would "sell" the book to book sellers, and then mysteriously the book seller would "return it". This is after you pay to print the book. Finally got a great publisher (after them) and asked them "why does Amazon return so many books?" She stopped and said "Amazon never returns books, they discount them and sell them." These books went missing. I can not stress enough how you will lose your money if doing business with them. After years, I never made any royalties because there was always a return credit from Amazon taking the place of the sale. And then I would find the book on sale with 3rd party retailers, yet had no money in my pocket to show for it. Avoid at all costs.

All there titles look boring, they play it safe. If you have a quirky story don’t submit it.

Mascot Books (and their imprints, Amplify Publishing and Real Clear Publishing) is THE best hybrid publisher. Period. They charge for services, as all legitimate hybrids do, but those services are outstanding, and well worth the price.
