MarketBeat.com is a SCAM website
MarketBeat.com is simply SCAM. Their service is inadequate, failing to provide necessary and timely information. For example, on January 8, 2024, there was significant news regarding a falling door issue with Boeing, and many traders made substantial profits by shorting options. Despite this, MarketBeat.com had no information on unusual PUT options activity for Boeing.
The same issue occurred with Spirit Airlines on January 16, 2024. When its stock plunged by up to 60%, MarketBeat.com offered no insights on shorting options for the airline.
The on-time delivery of MarketBeat.com's news reporting is also concerning. Other accurate NEWS sources reported an important update about the JetBlue-Spirit merger failure at 9:50 AM on January 16, 2024, but MarketBeat.com didn't post this information until 1:15 PM. This delay could lead to significant financial losses for those shorting Spirit based on outdated information.
I wish I could provide screenshots as evidence, but unfortunately, Trustpilot doesn't allow attachments or URLs.
MarketBeat.com's apparent lack of robust infrastructure and delayed reporting are significant drawbacks. It seems that the owners are either unwilling to invest in delivering news promptly or lack a basic understanding of providing timely financial information. Technical concepts like C++, web sockets, events, AWS or Azure, and FPGA (Field-programmable gate array) seem foreign to them, judging by how they handle the content. Web pages default.aspx (aspx) shows obsolete old .NET technology that is no longer supported.
Relying on MarketBeat.com could result in one significant loss – your CASH!
Another interesting observation regarding Matt Paulson, the founder and CEO of MarketBeat. His background raises concerns about the site's accuracy and reliability. He claims to have degrees in information systems and computer science, but he lacks experience with prominent companies in the industry. His tenure as a 'web developer' at lesser-known entities like Factor 36 Inc. and Logic Lizard fails to instill confidence.
One would expect someone in his position to have experience in the finance industry, and I'm not just talking about stock trading companies or investment banks. The lack of any significant presence for Factor 36 Inc. or Logic Lizard on LinkedIn suggests these companies aren't notable in the industry. Factor 36 Inc. operates out of a small house, appearing to be more of a mom-and-pop website shop, while Logic Lizard is virtually untraceable on Google.
In a field where accuracy is paramount, especially when charging for financial stock market data, hands-on programming experience with reputable trading firms or banks is crucial. Additionally, having a Series 7 License or employing someone who does would lend credibility. However, Matt Paulson does not appear to have this qualification, nor does he seem to employ any licensed brokers at the company. I couldn't find any information about the employees and their roles on MarketBeat.com. Yet, MarketBeat.com's LinkedIn profile does show employees. I found writers, one software lead, two web developers without experience (not even talking about finance), and an equities trader named Ryan Hasson, who lacks significant expertise. Also, Thomas Hughes has a degree in Culinary Arts and claims to be a stock market commentator, which I find amusing.
Not a single experienced web programmer associated with MarketBeat on LinkedIn. This suggests they are likely incapable of actual programming and/or outsourcing their work, possibly to temporary workers in India. The lack of in-house technical expertise who understands the stock market from a programming view for essential code reviews is a significant issue that rings - "a sinking titanic," evident on MarketBeat.com.
MarketBeat is an Inc. 5000 financial media company. It touts accolades like 'best-in-class stock research tools' and Barron’s, Entrepreneur, Financial Times, Forbes, and Inc. recognition for its growth and success. However, given the concerns about Paulson's experience and qualifications, these claims seem questionable. It really makes you think!
I noticed something else that's amusing in their MarketBeat 60-second commercial in the About section. Surprisingly, the commercial doesn't show a single monitor with financial charts. Instead, it focuses on a kitchen, office space, and what they consider a 'friendly' environment. The staff appears quite casual, almost like grown-ups in sneakers and jeans, which I found quite humorous.
They're trying to portray a sense of 'community,' but honestly, that's the least of my concerns. I'm interested in timely financial reports – that's what I'm paying for!

This company is nothing but a scam
This company is nothing but a scam. Be cautious.
I NEVER signed up for anything from them. I don't even know them before I got the first mail in which I was called a "new subscriber" and was asked to confirm my subscription. I unsubscribed several times through their mailing system but nothing changed, I still got several marks per week, sometimes daily. I even marked their addresses as spam, but they changed the addresses, so this doesn't help.
A company that does stuff like this is highly suspicious and no good and serious investment company has to do something like this.
