Expensive yet charming, but packaged carelessly with unhelpful customer service.
I had been waiting for about two years to buy the Maileg mice for my toddler. I fell in love with them at a store and couldn’t wait to start collecting them for her because I think they’re absolutely darling. While I understand they are a splurge, I thought it would be a lovely gift for her to cherish over the years. However, when I received the package, I was quite disappointed with how it was packed. The box wasn’t even taped on both sides, leaving the bottom side open and crushed during delivery. I don’t fault UPS for this; I hold Maileg responsible for not properly protecting my purchase. The toys weren’t wrapped in anything protective to keep them safe from moisture or even keep them from falling out of the box. There was some tissue paper laid flat in the bottom, along with paper stuffing, but the toys were just thrown in. I’ve received better packaging from Amazon! For the price, I would have appreciated something more protective; even simple plastic wrap would have sufficed. When I picked up the box, the unsealed bottom caused one of the mice to fall out. I contacted customer service, but they were of no help. It felt like they didn’t understand my concerns, and after two emails, I simply gave up. I don’t think I’ll be ordering from them again. It’s such a shame; I am very disappointed.
