I didn't realize how much I love sharp knives. And I love that it's really easy to drop them off and pick them up at your leisure.

I brought the knives in to be sharpened. The woman at the register was friendly and efficient. The knives were ready when promised and the woman at the register on the day I picked them up even opened the store early to help me. The knives are sharper than they have been in years and so nice to cut with.

It cost $12. The knife is sharp again. What more could one want?

I dropped of some of my knives at the Newton location. When I returned to pick them up on the day I was told me they'd be ready, I was so impressed by the quality and professional job that was done I was eager to bring in more, which I did. I took all of my knives to be sharpened at Local Root (mainly due to the company's underwriting on WBUR), and Jonathan did a superb job. The service was quick, he explained exactly what he was going to do, and the edges are perfect. He also straightened the tip of one knife that was bent. My knives have not been this functional in years; worth every penny.
