Lens.com pricing - updated
Update: Lens.com wrote me back and offered a "one-time" exception to the process below. I have changed them to be a 4-star given the decent treatment. I would say however that the difficulty in securing this rebate still is hard to fathom vs. something "automatic" Lens.com pricing is a scam. They entice and drive online traffic by showing a reduced price AFTER a discount that typically ranges from 15-30% lower than other sites. The trick? You need to go through an onerous process to receive this "rebate" including re-submitting all your information, re-confirming you want the rebate (who doesn't?), and then waiting 10-12 weeks to get this rebate. And as i just found out, if you ask for the rebate more than 56 days out, your are denied. IN 2018 WHY CAN'T THEY JUST OFFER AN INSTANT REBATE? The answer of course is that this isn't intended to be redeemed. What I can't understand is why anyone goes back and uses them again. I was tricked once, after laboriously getting my $80 rebate the first time in the form of a visa gift card, but now that my $110 ask has been denied, it's clear they have no intention of having customers get this price... it's all a scam. My tracking number is 854588354 for the poor Lens.com customer service person tasked with monitoring this thread.

Peter, Lens.com offers a mail in rebate on qualifying purchases. Your order from August qualified for the $110.00 mail in rebate listed on our website. All of the terms and conditions are listed on our website as well. I have reviewed your account with the rebate center and it shows that the post mark date on the rebate you submitted was past the required post mark date listed on the order. At Lens.com we care about our customers and we overrode that policy and reinstated your rebate offer. I show that this was updated on 10.24.18 with the rebate center. Please allow 2-3 weeks to receive the rebate card in the mail. The rebate program that Lens.com is running is saving our customers money, it is not a scam as you have stated in your review. You received your first rebate and will be receiving your second. Thank you, Helen - Manager Lens.com
