Beware of a hidden expensive processing fee. Lens.com is an untrustworthy company.

I purchased 4 boxes of Air Optix Night & Day Aqua at $26.49 per box with reasonable shipping cost. I thought it was a very good bargain. But I noticed something odd when I saw the purchase confirmation email that was sent after the order was placed. It only says "Order Total: $199.87" with no breakdown. Wait a minute. $26.49*4 is $105.96. And the shipping cost was around $20.00. Why is the total $199.87? I logged into my lens.com account page to check the billing details. It says that the subtotal is $179.92 and the shipping cost is $19.95, totaling $199.87. Why is the subtotal $179.92 instead of $105.96? I immediately sent an inquiry to their support to ask why the total amount is more expensive than it should be. I thought this is some kind of mistake and they would fix it right away. But they shipped the contact lenses without responding to my inquiry. Only after they shipped the lenses, they replied to me saying that a processing fee of $73.96 was applied to my order and it was shown during the order process. A processing fee of $73.96 for the contact lenses purchase of $105.96? Totally ridiculous. I revisited the order process (I've paid using paypal) step-by-step but I did not see "processing fee" itemized anywhere. I did not know that it was legal to charge a hidden fee like that. The contact lenses arrived almost a month later but I explained what happened to a delivery guy in detail and sent the contact lenses back on the spot. It was three weeks ago but I still have not received the refund. What a scam. I have been shopping online for over a decade but I had not encountered such a deceiving and manipulating company like lens.com.

Kaori, Your order contains items that incur a processing charge. We guarantee the total cost of your order will be the lowest on the internet, even including these fees. Backed by our Money Back Guarantee. Lens.com strives to provide the lowest cost shipped to your door on your contact lenses. The processing fee is listed on the left-hand side of the screen with the items in the cart during the checkout process. The order is returning from Japan to the United States. Please allow more time for the order to be returned and your refund to be processed. Thank you, Helen - Manager Lens.com

You say that the contact lenses are 22.95 this big sale going on but t you add another 22.95. Fee. For an unknown reason and the person that I talked to did not know either what those fees were. So please don’t have a sale but add the same amount of fees. To purchase.

Well I received a email reminder to…
Well I received a email reminder to reorder my daughter contacts . When I reordered to my surprise it was only only her left eye when I received order. I am aware both eyes are different scripts. But my previous order was both eyes not each separated. I asked for them to send the other and I was denied. Stating script expired. It was the same used to complete and receive the first order. When I reviewed on line with live chat they corrected the order and charged me showing me exact same script. I was then emailed that I was denied. I canceled but they have not refunded my account.

Doris, I apologize for the confusion on your order. I show that back in June 2020, you placed an order and one box was missing from the order. Lens.com set up a shipment for that one box for just the left eye. When you went in to reorder for your daughter, you selected the reshipment order. The order that went out on 3.1.21 was for just the one eye and the doctor failed to verify within 8 business hours. When we set up the new order on 3.8.21 for the right eye, the doctor did contact us back and advised that the prescription was expired. That order was cancelled and your card was not charged. Please contact us if we can be of more assistance. Thank you, Helen - Manager Lens.com

$82 processing fee!!!
I just placed an order for contact lenses for $85, and they charged a $82 processing fee!!!! Luckily, I was able to cancel the order. I will never order from them.

Valerie, For more than 20 years Lens.com has striven to provide top quality service to our customers so we’re discouraged to hear that you feel this way. The processing fee is listed on the left hand side of the screen when placing the order. We truly appreciate your feedback and hope you will consider giving us another chance in the future to assist with your contact lens needs. We appreciate your business and look forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you, Helen - Manager Lens.com

I recently moved and put in to have my contacts shipped to my new address. For whatever reason that did not take and when my order confirmation came through it had defaulted back to my old address. I immediately identified this as an issue through the system and was told I would hear back in 24 hours. The next day I decided to call just in case (even though at this point I was only 12 hours into my 24 hours) and was told my Contacts were already prepping to ship and that they could not do anything but that they would be shipped USPS so as long as I forwarded my address (which I did) I would be fine. Fast forward a few days and I get a notification from FedEx that my shipment had been delivered to the old address even though I was assured that would not be the case.

Customer Service Department SUCKS
After receiving the contacts I ordered, I have yet to receive the $80 rebate that was “included” with my order. After emailing with Samantha J. In customer service and speaking on the phone with Christopher in customer, I still don’t have my rebate and don’t know if I’ll ever get it. Would NOT recommend buying ANYTHING from this non-customer service oriented business. They are horrible and are liars.
Response from Lens.comMar 12, 2021
April, I apologize for the issues on your rebate. I am not sure why the rebate center would have entered the incorrect address for your rebate. I show that when you contacted lens.com via email Sam messaged you back and updated your address with the rebate center. We have noted for the rebate center to send out a new card to the correct address. Please allow time for the card to be delivered. We again apologize for the issues on the rebate card. Thank you Helen - Manager Lens.com

A reminder on completing the rebate…
A reminder on completing the rebate would have been great (or even if redemption was completed). I didn’t realize I needed to submit and I missed the cutoff on my last order.
