Avoid these guys...
These guys are unbelievable...they froze my payments, because I took out a loan against my total 401k balance, claiming it would affect the employer match, which it does not, then told me they weren't going to send anymore payments, even after quoting the signed contract and asking where in the contract it says they have the right to do that. This is a shady company, I wish I had avoided them.
Oh yeah, their customer service is lorded over by some guy, Isaiah de la Fuente...he acts like he's the CEO of the company. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and he literally said, "there is nobody above me". Then he started harassing me at my personal email address.
Yeah, I just now realized that they actually had a paystub on file, from when I first signed up, proving that my company offers employer match on 401k when a loan has been taken out. I swear, these guys are a joke...they also offer "rewards" for reviews (here, Facebook, twitter, Google), yet I'm sure they'll deny my "reward" for this review and all the others because it isn't 5 stars. Sounds like they're bribing people for positive reviews, but what do I know? 🤷
Response from LendtableOct 29, 2021
Hey James,
Michael from Lendtable here. I noticed your review today and as one of the primary individuals responsible for ensuring that every Lendtable customer has a stellar customer experience, it really struck a chord with me. It’s obvious that in your case, we failed to meet our goal of providing a stellar experience. My sincerest hope is that this response is a step in the right direction to correct that.
Whenever someone takes out a loan from their 401k without letting us know ahead of time, it affects the status of their next payout until we’re able to verify that taking out the loan didn’t impact their employer match. In your case, we clearly did not do a good enough job communicating this to you as a team and for that, we sincerely apologize.
For those who choose not to or can’t connect their retirement accounts directly into Lendtable, we offer the option of uploading a screenshot of your next contribution in order to have your payout disbursed. This is crucial to us because without that screenshot or automatic 401k connection, we have no way to verify your monthly contribution has been made.
As of this moment, we still have not received this screenshot, and that continues to be the only thing holding up your next payout. This is what Isaiah was trying to collect from you via the email account you put on file with us, from which you also reached out prior. He was shut down, told not to contact your email, and accused of harassment.
However, I understand the frustration from your end, and as per our mission to improve anyone's financial future as much as possible, I want to do anything I can to make this right for you. If you’re interested in talking things out further one on one, I’d be happy to set up a Zoom call and discuss this further. A real face—in real time—with real answers.
In the meantime while we wait to hear from you, I wanted to personally apologize one more time for not doing a better job serving you as a valued customer and hope to one day get the chance to make it right. Best wishes to you and yours from everyone here at Lendtable.
Best,
Michael
