I don't think the underwriter knows what they're doing.
I am still in the process and have been trying to hold on since they pulled my credit twice and I already paid for an appraisal but I am so frustrated I'm about to walk away. It's been dragging out for months and all because of old tax liens that does not encumber the property. The closing attorney has explained to them repeatedly but they are still requesting line by line explanation of 116 liens that span over 17 years.

Hello, As you mentioned, there are 116 liens in your borrowing entity's name totaling upwards of $85,986 dating back to 2014 and recorded recently as February 2023. (We will not post any further details on this site to keep your personal name information confidential.) We have provided you with exactly what needs to be shown to satisfy these 116 liens in order to proceed with this application. We appreciate both your understanding of the underwriting process and your work to provide the supplemental explanations we requested.
