My rent for the next month, changes due to an extension of the contract. However, on top of my current rent they are adding a charge alleged as"rental fee." I have ask June Homes' team where is this charge coming from. So far, I have receive multiple messages ignoring my question or not being able to answer it properly. They have circle back and fort clarifying the change on my rent but not this specific charge. This is one of many complaints I am raising with them.

Hi there, thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that the billing changes and communication around them felt confusing and frustrating.
When a lease is extended, rent and any applicable service or administrative fees continue according to the terms outlined in the lease agreement. Some charges, such as recurring service or rental-related fees, are separate from base rent and may appear as distinct line items on the account. We understand how this can be unclear if expectations aren’t aligned, and we regret that the explanation didn’t feel straightforward.
Our teams do aim to clarify billing questions and review charges when concerns are raised, though we recognize that back-and-forth communication without a clear resolution can be discouraging. Feedback like this helps highlight where explanations and follow-up need to be more direct and timely.
If you’d like the specific charge reviewed again or need a detailed breakdown tied to your account, we encourage reaching out through our support or accounting channels so the appropriate team can assist.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We appreciate the feedback and wish you the best moving forward.

A scam of a company
A scam of a company that puts on hundreds of dollars of miscellaneous charges just to get a buck
Response from June HomesJan 20, 2026
Hi Waver,
We’re sorry to hear that this was your impression. Charges applied to an account are based on the lease terms and documented services or findings, and they’re not intended to be arbitrary.
While we can’t review individual details publicly, our team is always available to explain charges and provide itemized documentation when requested.
Thank you for sharing your feedback.

Such a s***** house
We moved in yesterday. The room was not cleaned. The AC does not work. It was so damn hot and the resolutions team has still not come here to fix it.
The support team is pathetic and rude.
There were full of hairs and dirt in the room and they charge you so much for this s**** service
Response from June HomesJan 20, 2026
Hi Chandra,
We’re sorry to hear about your move-in experience. Issues with cleanliness and air conditioning, especially during hot weather, can be very uncomfortable and are not the experience we aim to provide.
Move-in concerns are meant to be handled with priority, and when reported, they are reviewed and coordinated with the appropriate teams as quickly as possible. We regret that this did not feel timely or responsive in your case.
We also take feedback about communication seriously, as respectful and professional support is expected in all interactions.
While we can’t discuss specific account details publicly, our team remains available to review any outstanding concerns directly and ensure they’re properly addressed.

Moved in to a dirty room with the former tenant’s dirt and hair all over the room and bathroom. Bathroom full of yellow stains and hair clogging the shower. Called them and they told me that they will send someone to clean it but no one came. This is my second night now sleeping and using the bathroom with the former tenant’s dirt all over the place. Worst experience ever.
Response from June HomesJan 20, 2026
Hi Zayed,
Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re sorry that your move-in did not feel smooth and that the condition of the room caused frustration during your first days.
When concerns were raised, our team did engage and worked to coordinate follow-ups with the appropriate parties to address the cleaning issues. We regret that the resolution did not happen as quickly or reliably as it should have, and we understand how that gap impacted your experience.
While we can’t discuss individual account details publicly, we appreciate the time you took to report and document the issues, as that information is important for review and improvement.
Thank you for your feedback, and we wish you the best going forward.

If you love living with Rats and Roaches then this the place for you.
I want to let the whole world know that this company is a scam. The New York, New York location. They lie to people. Their property has rats and roaches. My daughter want to go live in a better area that dose not have rats and roaches. The company told her they would change her out. She call them so many time and they just gave her the run around. So they are forcing her to stay in a roach and rat infested apartment. I you like living with rats and roaches then this the place for you.
Response from June HomesJan 20, 2026
Hi Monica,
Thank you for sharing your concerns. We’re sorry to hear how upsetting this experience has been for your family.
Reports of pests are taken seriously and are addressed through inspection and treatment processes coordinated with property management and licensed vendors. When issues are reported, our team works to arrange next steps and follow up, though outcomes can depend on building conditions and access.
Relocation requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and are subject to availability and lease terms. While we understand the frustration when expectations aren’t met, we don’t force residents to remain in unsafe conditions, and concerns raised are meant to be addressed through appropriate remediation steps.
We can’t discuss specific account details publicly, but we remain open to reviewing unresolved concerns directly to ensure they’ve been properly evaluated.
Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback.

Absolutely the worst company. Still feel this was 2 years later!
I'm adding more details as the company has asked me to verify that I was a tenant, and more about my experience is detailed below.
I truly believe that all of these positive reviews are paid for, as shown by their D- rating on the Better Business Bureau. Search on Reddit and hear so many other stories (my own in great detail included, as I could write a book about it).
They prey on young people and overcharge SO MUCH and would not let me break the lease when moving in, despite the house not resembling the listing and not even seeing the property beforehand.
My parents had to leave me in tears here, sleeping on a blow-up mattress because no furniture aside from the old tenant's broken items was left. I would attach photos if possible, but you can see them in my Google review (including the mouse in my 3rd-floor room despite not having any food out - that's how bad the infestation was). Friends that I have over agree with me that I have been scammed and are disgusted by the place, as does anyone who I explain the situation to.
Absolutely the worst company I have ever had the misfortune of conducting business with. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM. So many issues it's laughable as if I'm in some kind of twisted Black Mirror episode. I keep waiting for them to come forward and be like this was a psychological experiment or something, but NOPE. This has been one of the worst experiences of my life and has led to increased depression. I write this hoping to save others from my fate.
As I read through these other reviews, I see very similar experiences to mine - furniture from the old tenant left in my room (and no furnishing, despite charging me for it), unhelpful customer service (I was lied to and told my room would lock from the outside when I leave as I'm living with 5 strangers, but they attempted to fine me when I put a removable lock on the room door), and SO MANY FEES. Literally $119/month on top of everything as a membership fee - probably going toward the unresponsive customer service team that has done nothing but worsen my experience here.
Other tenants have broken things in the house, and then everyone is charged despite them not seeking out who is at fault. Also, rusty dishes left in the sink, hair all over bathrooms, etc. (as I found it when I moved in, and how it remained despite cleaning). I'm sure they'll charge me a bunch when I move out, even though I've maintained the space as I found it.
They tried to charge me $20/month so that I could get reimbursed by showing a receipt for a very select list of 'qualifiable' housing supplies that I myself have to go out and get... Yes, you read that right. Over an hour on the phone, and finally they relented due to how ridiculous that was.
House does not at all resemble the photos online (no furniture in the 'living area,' walls that were white in photos are green with purple underneath, which makes it clear that the photos are old, etc.) They tried to charge me for cleaning this room when it hadn't even been cleaned upon my arrival.
I'm living in Dorchester, OUTSIDE of Boston, in the smallest room in a six-bedroom house, paying WAY TOO MUCH (almost $2k a month after all the fees), and in this heat, it's been so hot that I'm sweating in my room even with the AC as high as it can go and all the windows closed. Also charged $300/month for the flimsiest furniture that arrived late (first, a bedframe, two side tables, a desk, and a chair - I had to fight to get a dresser, which is a very slim item and holds hardly anything). There were men outside my door to deliver it early in the morning, and I had been given no prior notice despite calling and submitting a ticket to the June Homes team.
Mice have lived here since before I moved in (already mice traps in the house), and the common areas are "cleaned" by cleaners they charge tenants for, yet the upstairs bathroom has remained in an unclean state since I moved in (I asked about this, and never received a reply). Same thing with tons of shower items from old tenants filling up showers, and an overflowing fridge with no space.
There has never been a moment when I have been both safe and comfortable, nor felt like the insane price point is worth it, and I am SO EXCITED for my move-out date.

Edit to reply to the latest June reply.
I'm not sure why I'm getting another reply 2 years after this happened. Has there been an uptick in negative reviews as I predicted? When you treat people like this, that's what happens.
Concerns were not taken seriously - tickets would go unanswered, and the mice problem was not fixed promptly. The terms said the furniture would be there when I arrived - that was not the case. It wasn't a disclosure issue; it was a failure to perform as promised. I have photo and email proof, if you'd like.
I have evidence that a June employee offered me $100 to take down this review via text. Happy to share it!

Hi Brynn,
Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We’re genuinely sorry to hear how distressing this experience has been for you. Housing issues can have a real emotional impact, and it’s clear this situation caused significant frustration and disappointment.
June Homes aims to provide apartments that are move-in ready and aligned with what’s shown in listings, and we regret that your initial move-in did not meet those expectations. Concerns related to cleanliness, furnishing condition, pests, and maintenance are taken seriously, and when reported through our support channels, they are intended to be addressed through inspections, vendor visits, and follow-ups in line with our procedures.
Fees, furnishings, and services are outlined in advance as part of the lease and resident materials, including what is included and what is optional. That said, we understand that clarity and execution matter just as much as disclosure, and we’re sorry that parts of this process felt frustrating or unclear.
We also want to clarify that we do not pay for reviews or pressure residents to remove feedback. Reviews, both positive and negative, are important to us and help identify where we need to improve.
While we can’t address specific account details publicly, we are always open to reviewing concerns directly and ensuring documentation and resolutions are properly explained. If there are any unresolved questions regarding your account or move-out, our support team remains available to review them with you.
We appreciate you sharing your perspective and wish you the best in your next home.

Room had a lot of stains and visible marks upon move-in. I’ve recorded over a dozen of them during move in, which I’ve sent to the company. Yet, after moving out, I was charged for a stain in the corner of one of the walls which I hadn’t taken pictures of. Do not rent with June and if you absolutely have to, make sure you protect yourself legally because they will do anything to get your security deposit.
Response from June HomesJan 20, 2026
Hi Yifei,
Thank you for sharing your experience. We understand how concerning move-in and move-out condition issues can feel, especially when charges are involved.
When residents report pre-existing issues at move-in and provide photos or documentation, those records are reviewed during the move-out process to distinguish normal wear and tear from new damage. Charges are not intended to be applied for conditions that were properly documented as pre-existing, and we’re sorry if this did not feel clearly reflected in your experience.
For privacy reasons, we can’t review specific account details publicly, but we’re always open to rechecking documentation and providing itemized explanations when questions arise.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave feedback and wish you the best going forward.
