Any "good" reviews here are fake or from the first tenants. They are BS!
Run away, if you can. June Homes is quite scammy - I moved into my place...well, I attempted to move in, but there were no keys in the lockbox (turns out this happened to BOTH of the other roommates in the apartment)! Next, you try to call, and they don't have anyone staffed to answer your calls.
After spending a night in a hotel because I couldn't get into my unit, I finally get into the place...it gets worse! I get into the front door and go into the room to find *another person's stuff in my room*. Oh, and did I mention that the room looked nothing like the picture? The staged photos are from before 20 other people lived in the room and trashed it. There's crap on all of the walls, there's no mirror (it was in the picture), the room wasn't even clean, and the carpet was wet and very stained.
Getting a shower was fun - the water pressure was low - that's normal, and I've had worse levels. But I have never had a bathtub with a cracked floor - that was wonderful! The place appears to have never seen a cleaning crew, but June says they use one.
They try to do even worse things like hook up the AC to the light outlet so you only have AC when the light is on, they try to make you purchase things to make the apartment up to NYC's building code standards - it felt scammy at best.
They are making zero progress towards reimbursing me for staying in a hotel the first night when there were no keys for me, along with the extra Uber I had to take to another location. Then, I have roommates making food at all hours of the night (1-4A, consistently).
I also feel like they are paying tenants that live in these places to convince you to move out and break your lease so they can get extra money for when you move out early.
Oh - and don't fall for the "There's another person interested in your room the month after you are to move out" scam. They realize that they are getting people from out of town, it seems like a great deal...then you move in and see the dump you've been offered.
TLDR - don't use June Homes. They should be shut down by the NY Attorney General.
I can't wait for June Home's scam crew to reply to this review...
For context - I am a start-up founder who can deal with so-so situations, but June Homes is a steaming pile of burning trash.

Landlords Beware This Company is a Mess
To quickly summarize my experience with June Homes as a landlord, as it has been riddled in issues from day one.
1. Uncoordinated handoff of the property where Junes Homes failed to show up for the scheduled key drop off, (we work and took time off to show up).
2. Loss of rent for the first couple months and throughout (delays in preparing and listing the house) along with needing to write tedious “true-up letters” calculating the difference of what June homes owes us for almost never making the minimum rent agreed upon.
3. Portal not up to date and being sunsetted (so no visibility to what is happening with rent and tenants). Instead you may get an email of estimated rent then later actual rent. You do this math.
4. June Homes’ attempts to require owners to replace or repair items including smoke detectors, window screens and sliding glass door screens damaged by the tenants and their unreported pets and not reported as damaged or missing in initial walkthrough. Even tried to get us to come replace air filters for them!
5. Loss of mail keys by June Homes, requiring landlord to replace. We should have charged them.
6. Multiple requests to your property with June Homes present were not honored and even resulted in no shows.
7. Multiple complaints from neighbors around disturbances and public acts of aggression by the tenant/s and their guests on the property.
8. Simple maintenance issues due to tenant neglect, requiring multiple repair visits for the same appliance or issue and repair costs when no repair was necessary.
9. Unreported pets on the property that, once reported, took June homes over 90 days to remedy (thousands in damage, that was reimbursed).
10. June homes not completing a proper walkthrough after tenants are vacant, finding a tenant living in your home that was supposed to have left weeks before, in a state of squalor.
11. A month after notifying June homes they have still not filed an eviction suite with the tenant. This is Austin, Texas, this could have been filed 7 days after notice.
12.Employees have been a rotating door, just shows what a red flag this company is.
Overall not only have I lost sleep, time, and money on this endeavor, but I foresee possible more money loss if we have to engage legally. Stay away!

Fraudulent practices.
Please understand that their 'care' starts and ends at getting your money. I am currently in a group chat with a couple of people who have had similar experiences with this comoany. they will lie consistently, charge you for services they ultimately do not provide and are nonchalant and dismissive when you seek resolution. DO NOT SIGN! Look elsewhere.

June Homes NYC Exprience
I rented a room in a June Homes apartment for 13 months. I knew I was being overcharged in some ways going into it, but I was in a tight spot because i had to move quickly and was not living in the city at the time and the approval process was fast and easy. Also, the apartment was very nice and did match the pictures. However, I had many problems over my time living there, none of which were handled with any care, efficiency, or concern. Multiple times I was not notified of any new roommates moving in despite their policy that you can approve or deny rommates who apply to live with you. The first time this happened, a person moved in with a partner but we were not told it would be two people, only one. When I let them know and wanted to verify this second person was actually on our lease not just someone claiming they were, they told me they are not required to give me that information but assured me it would not happen again because only one couple per apartment was allowed. They also repeatedly reminded me that it didnt matter anyway because if even if I was given the option to deny the tenants I would be responsible for paying that portion of rent until someone moved in. A month later, ANOTHER couple moved in completely announced. 6 people were now living in a 4 bedroom apartment which goes against the June Homes policies stated in the lease. Luckily, a few weeks later one of the couples needed to leave the apartment so the issue resolved itself but June Homes had NOTHING to do with it and offered no solutions or apologies at any point.
Each roommate that moved in after me was NOT alerted to the fact that I was living there with an ESA (my dog). They were all very surprised to see a dog when they moved in and luckily for them, me, and June homes none of them were allergic or afraid of dogs, otherwise they would have needed to relocate. A few roommates were unhappy about living with a dog though and I had to accommodate them in any way I could, like restricting my pet to certain areas.
There was also the MAJOR issue of our insanely expensive gas bill of around $500-$600 every month. After bringing this up to June homes and not receiving any realy help we were forced to investigate ourselves and we were able to confirm with con ed that the building had a shared meter and June Homes was charging our unit the gas for the entire building. This is illegal. This took months to sort out, constant emails and phone calls to get anyone to address it and reimburse us. 6 months of being over charged hundreds of dollars without anyone even pretending to take the issue seriously.
When I moved in the monthly $109 “essentials fee” was for a cleaner to come once a month, and household supplies like paper towels, dish soap etc. to be delivered. Often the cleaner came maybe every 6 weeks or 2 months and there was never any over sight of this by June Homes. They also decided supplies would no longer be delivered, instead we could be reimbursed $20/month for specific supplies we went and bought ourselves- but the $109 fee never changed. It was a complete waste of money. They also chose the most expensive possible internet service that you do not have control over, and do not provide itemized bills to tenants, so it is never clear what you are being charged for and is a major headache to figure out.
I unfortunately needed to extend my lease one month until I could move into my next apartment. They essentially started a new month long lease for me from the day I was originally scheduled to leave until the new move out date. The day my “new” lease started I was harassed with emails, texts and calls about my move in orientation call, my home access instructions, and my security deposit needing to be paid immediately. I had to tell multiple people through multiple channels that I had already been living there a year, my lease was just extended. It was exhausting and not what you want to be dealing with when you are dealing with stress of moving. Maybe if you plan to spend a month in one of these apartments it would be ok, but overtime they will drown you in convoluted fees, extraneous bills, confusing policies, and extremely poor customer service through a frustrating and poorly working app. It isn’t worth the time, stress, lack of communication, and money pit you will fall into.

Save money and time by avoiding June Homes
Just save yourself time and money and avoid June Homes. Apartment common areas are not clean and support advertised is not delivered as such. Especially avoid if you are a woman alone in a new city. I've never felt so pushed aside and ignored by a business.

I would give zero stars if I could
I would give zero stars if I could. Please do not lease from June Homes in DC. It has been nothing but a hassle since my daughter moved in:
1. She signed a lease though June 2024 and they just informed her that she has to move out by the end of September 2023. Is this even legal? They gave her less than 30 days notice. The landlords wants to reclaim the property.
2. The internet has been awful. She was promised high speed and can’t even work at home due to the inconsistent service and outages. It has cost her a lot of money due to not being able to work. Since you can’t contact the utility company yourself, it takes forever to resolve each time.
3. They changed the code to access the property and did not inform tenants, so she was locked out when she got home. This is a HUGE safety and security issue for a young woman. She should be able to access the property that she is paying good money for.
Due to all of this, her graduate school is now up in the air because this company won’t make a decision about honoring her lease. They don’t seem to care.
I would avoid this rental company at all costs.

BEWARE
BEWARE! Still waiting for them to find a new apartment after a bait and switch in Boston. Paid for 1/2 of rent up front for beautifully furnished apartment only to be given access to completely different apartment building and room. Lease was changed by June homes agent and company tried to cover up blatant bait and switch. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. June Homes is complicit in this illegal behavior and uninterested in finding a new place to live that is comparable to what was paid for months ago. Absolute nightmare

Awful - beware of 5 star reviews
I’d be wary of these 5 star reviews. They pester customers and pay them with giftcards to give positive reviews. Everybody I have spoken with who actually used the service has nothing but bad things to say.
I would avoid using this service if at all possible. It is not a scam, but you should not expect quality service or timely responses from the staff. It truly seems like they make it as difficult as possible to submit requests or get in contact with them, half of the buttons on the website and app do not even work. When you finally do get in contact with them, you’d be lucky if your issue even gets solved within a week, if at all. Few issues below, looking back the convenience of a short term rental was almost worth the struggle of dealing this company. I would only use June if it is your last resort. You’re also going to be charged out the a** and can 100% find something cheaper and better wherever you’re going.
1) room was filthy upon move in. Had to spend considerable time scrubbing mysterious piles of something off the floor. The walls were covered in marks and holes. Luckily, one morning about 3 weeks into my stay a man came in at around 9am (unannounced and without notice) and told me he was there to paint my room. I told him to come back tomorrow and I would move my stuff. He did not return for a few days, but eventually my room was fully painted a few days later and I came back to all of my possessions being moved around. No notice either time.
2) the pictures of your apartment are not going to be super accurate. Cleaning between people moving in/out is minimal if any, at least for my apartment. As a result you’re getting a very lived in apartment, do not expect the pristine conditions that you see in the photos. The shower when I moved in was the most foul thing I have ever seen, covered in some orange grime that truly looked biohazardous. Not sure if that is Junes fault or my roommates, but either way these facilities do not get cleaned between tenants.
3) the regular cleaning they talk about does not occur, or is so poorly done it is impossible to notice. They do not even touch the bathroom or kitchen or your room, so I’m not sure what cleaning is even happening.
3) I did not get a physical key to the building for more than a week after arriving. I submitted a ticket immediately, and was given a list of like 20 codes to try on the lockboxes outside to get a key, since the one that was supposed to be mine was empty. None of the codes worked obviously, so I had to wait for the property manager to come drop a new one off. This took over a week, and during that time I relied on the app to open my door.
4) support staff is very un knowledgeable, calling them on the phone is a waste of time, they end up sending you along to another team and using an email ticket no matter what. They are super responsive to you up until you sign the lease and send them your money, after that good luck. I was told that my apartment had no ac, no biggie so I tried my hardest to have one installed, a service that june offers. It took probably a dozen phone calls to set this up. Literally one day before I moved in they told me that there was already ac in the room, which was honestly great. But nobody on the staff knew that and I wasted a ton of time and stress trying to figure out the situation. Like I said, they’re very helpful up until you actually pay them. Some of the support was genuinely very nice, just didn’t really know what they were doing and likely overwhelmed.
I chose the unfurnished option to save money. At one point I was told that for a small fee I could get a bed put in the room, and wouldn’t have to pay for all of the furniture. I said great let’s do it. Didn’t hear anything back, so I contacted them again and was told they have never done that before. There were multiple experiences of this nature before move in, it really seems like nobody there actually knows what the company does??
At one point I remember literally getting ghosted by the guy I was talking to at June for like 8 days. This was during the ac debacle, and he just stopped responding for a long time. Super nice guy when you could actually get a hold of him, but it was just such a pain dealing with these arduous emails and support tickets.
5) I had extended my lease for 3 additional days, gotten email/text confirmation of the extension multiple times, and yet once my original lease ended and the extension began, my access to the app and building were cut off. After getting in touch with support, they told me that the extension was never approved, despite having paid, signed, and having written confirmation, and that my access could not be restored on the app. Luckily I still had my key, but come on guys.
It is an apartment, it costs a ton, you will not be attended to quickly or effectively, but it is an apartment. Use if you must, but stay away if at all possible.
